Re: Good job on Goblin Menace

Scripted sequences can't be cancelled by the host in co-op (only by clients); escape just brings up the menu.

Good job on Goblin Menace

More Trine is always nice, and especially when the levels are even more varied, combat is more challenging, and skill/co-op synergy is increased. All of which is the case with this expansion. One feature I'd like, however, is the ability to cancel in-game scripted sequences. We're doing Hardcore mod...

Re: Trine 2: Goblin Menace

Yeah I think this is the best installment so far. Nice visuals as always, and now even more varied. Combat is more interesting, new skills are cool. A few bugs: stealth sometimes doesn't engage correctly, and the mummy enemies in the desert level attack way before their animation indicates it. For e...

Re: dlc of trine2?

Sweet. We'll set it to "no one" for sure. You got any more details on Hardcore mode? Typically one would expect 1 life per char per level, but from the sound of it there's more/other changes. Also, will either of these options extend to the standard T2?

Re: dlc of trine2?

Instant buy + co-op playthrough. :)

But IMO you should remove the hover exploit (hover yourself with 2 boxes, or someone else on 1 box). We had to make up an artificial rule of not using it since it'd break the balance.

Other than that, bring it on.

Re: Running well, guys

That seems to have done the trick, thanks. Heh, and the launcher AA option changed to "Custom" so no write protection is necessary for the option file. You guys have got some good programming discipline. Nice article, too. 4x SS is too much of an fps drop for my taste but 2x seems to work ...

Running well, guys

Just downloaded the retail version on Steam, which indeed included my saves from the beta. It seems to run as well this time around. I'm using AFR2 for better SLI performance, this game seems to like that one. Looks good so far. I'm even a bit surprised that 2x supersampling is viable, almost to the...

Re: Trine 2 BETA Discussion Thread

Joel mentioned on the Steam forum that Tr2 uses deferred shading, which likely means no CSAA. But FXAA is working well for me at the moment. It's funny that you can just plop a custom driver that some dude made into the game directory and have it work. I've used it in Trine 1, Dead Space 1 and 2, an...

Re: Trine 2 Beta technical issues thread

Nope, happened in single GPU mode as well. But I may have found the source. It seems when you enter the main menu, it takes a few seconds for the sound system to load. If the game is resumed (through "Resume game" or Single Player -> latest save) before this has happened, either by startin...

Re: Trine 2 Beta technical issues thread

Issue 1 : In the other thread I said that SLI no longer causes hitching. But now it seems the game isn't actually running in SLI, since I checked the GPU2 usage which is close to 0. My original text is below. I've since fixed the screenshot issue, so Trine 2 seems to run in proper fullscreen mode. ...

Re: Trine 2 BETA Discussion Thread

I can report that custom FXAA works in the beta. It still incurs a noticeable performance loss, but less than standard MSAA. It performs a function similar to Transparency AA as well, which is cool. It shows for 2D stuff like leaves. Any news on CSAA support, Joel? nVidia claims it's very easy to al...

Re: Trine 2 BETA Discussion Thread

I like it when there's good PC titles like this, so I pre-ordered. A few words on the beta: * It looks great. Very lush and colorful. * Although I haven't played much yet, the game doesn't seem to exhibit the same stuttering problem in SLI mode as Trine 1. Hopefully this will hold true for the entir...

SLI compatibility

Specs: 2500K, 8GB RAM, 2x GTX 460 in SLI, Win7 Pro 64-bit. I've been trying Trine with this setup and seem to be experiencing some hitching that I didn't notice when running with only one 460 card. The framerate feels high judging by the character animation etc, but there is some kind of stuttering ...

Re: Character balance and more

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear about the characters. The image stuff was never more than what the Widescreen Gaming Forum calls a "blemish". Since the art is made for 16:9, it's less distorted than e.g. old games stretching from 4:3. As for SLI, I don't use it right now but I'm plannin...

Character balance and more

First I'd like to thank everyone at Frozenbyte for Trine 1, which I just finished. Very nice platformer, great controls, sound, music, graphics and more. PC version works and looks great, I especially appreciate the mouse handling. I have a few questions: In the first game, the Thief's damage dealin...
