Re: Please provide install guide for linux

Hi, Tried replying to your e-mail, but the mail server bounced it back, so I'm replying here: You can buy Shadowgrounds Survivor for Linux on-line via Humble Store (http://frozenbyte.com/games_shadowgrounds-survivor.php) or Desura (http://www.desura.com/games/shadowgrounds-survivor). The game has a ...

Unfortunately GeForce 7150M is not enough to run Trine properly. To get better performance you would need a better video card. Sorry.

Re: Mac OS X crash end of level 2

The biggest problem is that the crash occurs somewhere deep inside PhysX and not in our code. There was one flaw in the code that I fixed and it removed probably over 95 percent of these crashes. Unfortunately they still occur on some setups but, as said, there doesn't seem to be anything obviously ...

Re: Transfering savegames

This could be a problem with the Steam Windows version. I don't see any reason why savegames shouldn't work between different platforms - at least we exchanged saves between Windows and Linux during development without problems. Also, the save files are in a simple text format. However we haven't te...

Re: Unofficial Linux update

Just in case anyone is wondering: we sent the new version to Frozenbyte on June 17th. However from what I understand, right now they are extremely busy finishing Splot and Trine 2 so there can be some delay. For the time being you can still download the update from Alternative Games' site (http://al...

Re: Segfault in arch linux 64 bit

For some reason the game seems to use libstdc++.so.6 from a system directory (/opt/lib32/usr/lib/) instead of the /lib directory under the game directory. However libboost_thread-mt.so.1.37.0 comes from the correct place. You should find out why libstdc++ is loaded from the wrong place, we don't hav...

Re: Linux: Trine does not save my game/settings properly.

Did you try removing /lib32/libSDL-1.2.so.0 under the game directory to use system provided SDL instead?
Unfortunately this is an SDL bug so there's nothing much we can do about it.

Re: Linux: Trine does not save my game/settings properly.

They should be saved at least when you exit the game, regardless of if you actually play or not. You could give a try to the unofficial update 4 (http://alternativegames.net/temp/trineUnofficialUpdate4.zip). It fixes a bug where the game crashes on exit on some ATI cards.

Re: Linux: Trine does not save my game/settings properly.

You should check the permissions of the ~/.frozenbyte/trine/ directory. You could also try removing the directory (perhaps make a backup first), after that the game and launcher should now really do everything correctly.

Re: No character movement

Then this is quite strange. Claw is just a prototype though so its perhaps not very surprising. You could check the "current_profile" line in ~/.frozenbyte/claw/profiles/current_profile.txt, and the controls of that profile in ~/.frozenbyte/claw/profiles/<profile>/config/keybinds.txt. The ...

This is a very minor update. The game now gives a better error message if it crashes on startup, and the sound system has been changed a bit.

Re: [linux]Shadowgrounds keyboard not working

Sorry that your post was left unanswered. However this sounds extremely strange if Shadowgrounds Survivor works but Shadowgrounds doesn't. Do any keys work during gameplay (ie. Esc to bring up menu, F8 to show the console, can you type to the console)? You could check that the binds are set correctl...

Re: No character movement

Most likely you have a corrupted/missing profile. Try the following:

1. Remove the ~/.frozenbyte/claw directory, if it exists.

2. Download the latest version (beta3) from your Humble download page if you haven't already.

3. Extract the zip and run setup.sh.

4. Start the game.

Re: Shadow Grounds Survivor Crashes

I'm glad to hear that our fallback fix works. Earlier (Windows) versions of the game suffered from the same bug sometimes, and there the user had to do some "hacking" by himself to proceed. Though the actual problem was thought to be fixed, I had changed the way the game creates savegames ...

Re: How to play Jack Claw on Linux?

The setup script is not expected to do anything visible. It just copies the necessary files to ~/.frozenbyte/claw. If you can run the game (claw-bin) and it works then everything is OK. If something is wrong (controls don't work for example) then delete the ~/.frozenbyte/claw directory, re-run setup...

Re: Can`t start game

It seems that for some reason some Linux installations don't respect the RPATH set in the game binary. Possible solutions are: 1. Check that your Linux distribution is correctly installed. 2. Set the LD_LIBARY_PATH environment variable to search for the libraries from the right location (ie. /lib32 ...

Re: Shadow Grounds Survivor Crashes

Okay, this is a different issue than the first report. Thank you for posting. At what point in the game did this crash occur? I assume at the end of a level? In that case you should still be able to progress to the next mission by restarting the game and choosing load game. The problem is we should ...
