Re: My interview with Joel and Jukka

Thanks! @Cheeseness, could you make another interview regarding the future of Trine 4 and general future projects ? Nothing planned at the moment. I have a bunch of big projects on the go (Day of the Tentacle's Linux port, Winter's Wake, Above The Waves, a second Another World article, etc.). We'll...

Re: Trine 2 DLC for Linux

Hello natewiebe13! We will start porting the expansion for Linux soon after things have settled a bit with the launch. I do not know any details as of yet, but I suppose it will be purchaseable atleast via our humble store. We will most likely look in to other options as well like desura. Can't wai...

Re: Fan Art!

Last week we ran a little fan art thingy to give away a collectors edition copy of Trine 2 (graciously organised/donated by fb_joel). We had a total of 8 submissions ranging from quick pencil drawings through to digital art and even a game(!). If you're interested, you can check them out here :) Als...

My interview with Joel and Jukka

Hi all This morning I published an interview that I did with Joel (Vice President) and Jukka (Senior Programmer) that covers development of the Trine series, what it was like to do an in-house port for Trine 2, and a few other bits and pieces :) Cheese Talks To Frozenbyte - Part 1 Cheese Talks To Fr...

Re: When is Trine 2 for Linux comming

Hello, For someone who is not savvy to the gamer world -- whose only experience with games is setting them up from DVD's -- would someone explain, or provide a link that explains, how one gets the game and linux client? I DO know a bit about linux, but nothing about game sites, resources, etc. I'm ...

I've had it running for a little while natively and it's great to not be using Wine :)

Re: Fan Art!

@Cheeseness, I'd love to see the "Pumpkin Carriage" in color, I love how sharp "First Place" is looking, hope the carriage turn out the same way :) Cheers :) I was initially hoping to paint it as a raster image (like the partially animated in-game cutscenes) rather than a vector...

They're not Amadeus' children (they're Amadeus, Zoya and Pontius as children).

I must say im rather impressed with the work you've put into these pictures. I like the first one the best as its directly linked to the game and Pontius' potatoes :D Thank you :D There's maybe 16 hours worth of work in "First Place" (including sketching time). I may have rushed it a litt...

Re: Fan Art!

Nice pics, I especially enjoy the polished look of the first one. Thanks! A lot of work went into that one. It doesn't quite match the in-game loading screens as well as I was aiming for, but it was fun to do :) I'm going to do two more that show what the other characters might have gotten up to af...

Re: My Trine 2 Review

I really like the cropping of the shots and positioning in your article Thanks :D I like to spend a little time finding some nice screenshots for my reviews and articles. I'm mostly happy with what made it into the review, but I'm a little disappointed that I had trouble getting nice combat shots (...

My Trine 2 Review

I recently published a review of Trine 2 that looks at how the game has evolved and developed from Trine 1. The whole review is over 2,000 words (and has screenshots, and they count for a thousand each, right?), but here's a tl;dr version for anybody who can't be bothered reading the whole thing: If...

Re: Trine on Linux (32bit) not saving games?

I've noticed some odd updating of Trine on Desura (rolling back to older versions and then updating to newer versions with old dates). Is this a sign that the problem is being looked into?

Re: Trine on Linux (32bit) not saving games?

Owner and group are the current user, with read and write permissions.

~/.frozenbyte didn't exist prior to adding the game on Desura (on my girlfriend's machine at least - I can delete my .frozenbyte folder and do a fresh Desura install to confirm if you like).

Re: Trine on Linux (32bit) not saving games?

Are they running the installer as root? That is not supported and might break things (creates ~/.frozenbyte with incorrect permissions) 32bit binary size matches what you've posed (64 bit binaries aren't distributed to a 32 bit client). The Desura version doesn't use an installer (unless something ...

Just in case you're not aware, there are people installing this via Desura (myself included) who're still encountering this problem. Perhaps it's not as resolved as you'd hoped.

Re: Steam's Trine 2 Beta on Linux (wine)

You could try setting setOption(inputModule, "UseOSPointerBallistics", false) in %appdata%\Trine2\options.txt (wherever that is in Wine). After a fresh reinstall, I encountered the mouse problem too. This resolved it for me. I have mentioned this config option on the WineHQ AppDB profile ...

Re: Trine 2 Competition idea-thread

With poems and artworks being unlockable secrets (providing that's not just for the beta), having competitions geared around thuse seems to be a nice fit (it would be sweet to see winners find their way into DLC or something like that). If you're keen on doing less focussed competitions (such as the...

Re: Steam's Trine 2 Beta on Linux (wine)

Hi all I'm the one who added the "platinum" rating on WineHQ. I wrote a comment over there explaining that I was perhaps a little generous with my rating, and that since it ran in the profile I'd been using for Trine 1 without any problems, I copied the results from that (which at the time...
