Re: AA/MSAA support

I doubt we will see official MSAA support in Trine 3. Easier implementation for them might be some cheap Temporal AA solution like SMAA T2x which doesn't need MSAA.

Bug Thread

Yesterday I started to play Trine 3, for some reason I can't resume the game today. The game crashes with this message:

Re: Gameplay Impressions

Is swimming still possible in Trine 3? The frog level in Trine 2 was one of the best because of that.

Re: Rendering information - anti-aliasing, overheating, etc.

The difference is huge in your samples and even more in motion. A 780 Ti is easily capable of 4xSSAA at 1920x1080 and is able to hold 60+ fps in Trine 2. To be honest saying AA makes no difference is nonsense.

Re: Do you still work on this?

Maybe cancelled or they restarted. A 2,5 years delay typically means they completely restarted the game from the ground on because of quality issues. And there is no sign that it could come anytime soon. So more like 3+ years.

Just checked with an Intel HD4600. FXAA is broken there as well, it looks even darker. Completely broken.

Re: FXAA causes very dark image

I don't have this problem on my Nvidia card (660 Ti). However I reported the same bug related to Intel graphics here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=33392113&postcount=34 So it seems it is related to Intel and AMD. Do you have the newest patch installed? I will try next tim...

Re: Purple fog when using 3.0 or 4.0 shaders

Nvidia fixed this Bug in Beta 320.49. I know it was already fixed for the main game from Frozenbyte itself, the demo however isn't. With the new driver even the demo runs properly now.

Re: Patch 2.0 - what's new?

Because I lost my save due to a HDD change I played everything again in singleplayer including the new bonus level. I'm done in 10 hours. Compared to previous versions 2.00 is by far the most matured. I only discovered 3-4 smaller issues. The biggest is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN5jaxJ03...

Re: FPS Cap Option broken

This option is broken. Doesn't work. FPS limited to max 100. Disabling it or even a custom fps cap has no effect. Maximum is by design limited to 100. It should really be enforced in the menu, so people wouldn't have to wonder. I'm not sure why we haven't raised the maximum, since 120 and 144 Hz di...

Re: DRM free T2 & expansion?

It's been nearly 3 months since we got an update on this, can we get a FB_[insert_name_here] reply I don't think we have any schedule for DRM free release. It will come out at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later), but as it has no business value on it's own (there are very few people who...

Cheat/dev code to skip a level

I'm sure there is a cheat/dev code to skip a level to another level in Trine 2, I can't find it anymore. What code I have to use?

Re: Rant about using PhysX

Well, I do find that the Windows version runs faster even at 1366*768 (which is the maximum resolution of my laptop). Exactly what I said: The performance problem might be Linux due to bad GPU drivers. GPU is your problem. Under Linux even more. Or Linux requires a faster CPU compared to Windows.

Re: Rant about using PhysX

Borc, you might have run it well on an AMD GPU, but you also have a really fast CPU. Mine may not be as fast as yours. I have downclocked my CPU to 1,6 Ghz and if there was a CPU problem then I should see some fps loss. Even with my downclocked CPU I'm 100% GPU limited. And your GPU is much much sl...

Re: Rant about using PhysX

Trine 2 doesn't support CUDA in any way nor GPU PhysX. How many times I have to tell you? In fact AMD GPUs performs very well in Trine 2 and when using SSAA better than Nvidia cards due to better handling in very high resolutions. And unsurprisingly you have no answer for my questions about your too...

Re: Rant about using PhysX

Well, to make things clearer, I'm using an Asus K53TA. With Ubuntu 12.04 (a Linux system). Of course, the CPU is limited to 1.4 Ghz maximum (I don't think turbo mode actually works even in Windows). A6-3400M should be fine. I bet you are heavily GPU bound not CPU limited. How do you check CPU depen...

Re: Rant about using PhysX

Is this a 0,5 Ghz Quadcore? Is there some proof for your "PhysX slows down the game heavily" claim? There is no GPU PhysX in Trine 2! This games runs PhysX on your CPU, it means AMD, Nvidia, Intel GPU doesn't matter when it comes to PhysX. A while ago I did some CPU test. i5-3570k 1280x800...

The Bug with the XP point, I can confirm this. But I managed to grab the XP point after some tries somehow.
