3d

Many years ago (before Survivor was available) I experimented Shadowgrounds in 3d first-person-shooter mode. Could have worked if mouse cursor (doubles as targeting crosshair) wouldn't have disappeared. Has anyone tried that with Survivor yet? In game screenshot of Shadowgrounds in 3d mode http://ko...

Re: DRM/copy protection software?

However, I know some copy protections do screw up your machine for good, but as far as I know none of Trine versions use such copy protection systems. That is good to hear. It seems one of the worst, if not The Worst, case is StarForce. When several games using it are installed at once, some of the...

Error: (LOCALIZATION MISSING)

I have installed Trine with finnish language option. In the game under Asetukset (Options) and control settings there reads (LOCALIZATION MISSING). I have patched the game. What gives?

Unrecoverable read error

I have had number of disks and discs fail over the time. Today I started process of backing them up into full terabyte external HDD. I'm using Nero Express 6 to create images of the discs. When it came Shadowgrounds' turn, program complains Unrecoverable read error . Files copy from CD to HDD withou...

Re: Keyboard localization problem with a game

I'd assume you've checked all the "official" Heavey Gear II sites etc? Such an old game so I wouldn't be surprised if there's not much support to be found... Official sites may not be around anymore. But it surprises me if there isn't one single finn who hasn't tried the game with finnish...

Keyboard localization problem with a game

I have problem with game Heavy Gear II: default control settings don't like work with finnish versions of WinXP and keyboard. So default game setting for forward movement is Numpad 8 , which I need change to Numeronäppäimistön 8-näppäin in order to get it work. So far so good... but there is also ne...

Easy fix: change background color. White and black usually works best. In case of black background color, remember change color of normal text (like this) to white ;)

Re: Available mods & maps

Cool to hear from you, Dex. :) It's a shame there never was that great modding support for SG/SGS, because I think the editor wasn't that hard... But it's our own fault too, we never had enough documentation for it (and that's because we didn't have time). Many games don't have modding support at a...

Hello, and welcome to forums. We can consider ourselves like game developers/designers and we know how time consuming it is. What games have you made, if any? You give us hope and you show us that it is still possible to be successful in this big companies market. There are plenty other examples: Da...

Re: Available mods & maps

Because this game certainly raised the bar for any future isometric alien blaster to come. Hate to say it, but gameplay differencies to Take no prisoners isn't that great (unless I remember terribly wrong). SG has advantage with graphics (outdated already), cutscenes (who cares?), and modding. And ...

Platformer!? You guys are so retro! So am I, so bring it on!

Squad-scale scifi wargame with battle armor and what ever SG was originally supposed to be would been nice too. Do we have any hope about that?

Re: POLL: Do you play RTS games for SP or MP?

In last millennia Total Annihilation was RTS game with best game engine, gameplay and user interface. Those reasons alone hooked me into game for over 5 years, made me buy two expansions and play them through (total 175 single player missions), then continue with multiplayer and modifications. Yeah...

the visual aspects are different, but what about the gameplay? i bet the gameplay is really really similar. Ok, I'll spell it out for you. First of the images is from Commodore 64 version. Re: ShadowGrounds Engine to sell?

You call Radeon X850 crappy? x850 pro that's been modded to XT actually. You mentioned Doom 3, I don't think this card would run it very well. Haven't tried, though. I've played Doom 3 through with Radeon 9600 XT. I bet my arm that X850 Pro/XT beats 9600 XT running D3. [edit] As to how playable it ...

I'm not a coder, and not buying the engine or anything like that, but just wanted to comment that I'm impressed how the game looks and runs with my crappy video card (x850). You call Radeon X850 crappy? Game works just fine with older Radeons (played with Radeon 9600 XT). Besides, gfx wasn't top-no...
