Re: Patch 1.05 out now (not just Steam)

Never saw the link on the main page this morning. Perhaps putting it down the left hand side would make it stand out more?

Patch 1.05 out now (not just Steam)

"This patch for Trine updates the game to version 1.05 for US retail, EU retail for 6 languages, and online retail versions for Direct2Drive and GamersGate versions. The patch reduces the game difficulty of the final level, fixes PhysX errors, adds a controller settings save, and other game upd...

The Nobilis website still just has the 1.03 patch.

Re: Trine Updates

Fileplanet has 1.01 EU retail and 1.02 EU retail, but in the description it says it's 1.03? Just downloading them now so will soon find out what versions they are. Well I went straight to installing 1.02 and it worked. No idea how to tell what version it is though. Small problem (and I don't recall ...

Re: Trine PC Priced at $40?

Personally I don't have a problem with the pricing. £20 on steam with free SG is a damn fine price point.
But I prefer to have a boxed version, so I'm going to be ordering the retail version from Play which is £25. And I still don't have a complaint with that.

Re: Trine officially announced

Wow, that looks awesomely fun! I can see little elements of other games in there and on first view I thought 'hmmm, an action rpg. I dunno...' but then no, you guys go all platformy on our ass. Definite purchase material. Shame it's not on the 360, but hey, I'll buy the PC version.

Re: POLL: Do you play RTS games for SP or MP?

It's all down to personal taste really. Looking at what I consider to be the 2 most extreme ends of the spectrum, there are people that can spend most of their hours playing counter strike all day long but on the other hand there are those who can spend all their hours in world of warcraft. And they...

Steam are giving Shadowgrounds away for free if you buy Tank Universal ($9.99) before 21/08/08. Link below.

Re: POLL: Do you play RTS games for SP or MP?

I'm also much more into the single player aspect of RTS games. More than likely due to my MP skills being far too rubbish. :) There's just something about having a proper story to go through that makes it feel more involving and introducing slightly different goals than you could reproduce in MP. Bu...

Re: Bugs

Not so much a bug but on Save the Scientist (which has been mentioned before) and Keep your Claws Off it shows "[Localization Missing]" on the map screen rather than the current mission objective.

Re: Possible fix to Start button crashes

Just tested it again and still didn't work. I know from your initial post here it says something about it overwriting 2 files in the config dir but all that's in the zip file is the files that go into the data/missions folder. I assume the only thing that should be in there originally is just the Te...

Ah right. My bad. I thought it was just for the one level it was meant to stick with the sniper not through the rest of the game for her. No other character has the kill count so we doing good. :)

Re: Bugs

Don't know if you'd class this as a bug, or more a little glitch, but the 'Enemies Killed' counter sticks with Isabel from the Shrieking Tunnels levels right through to the rest of the game.

Re: Guess the Genre!

I'm all for seeing a puzzle game with super-deformed SG characters in it along the lines of Puzzle Fighter. LOL.

If that doesn't happen then definitely something along the lines of an RPG, Fallout style, or an RTS.

Re: Possible fix to Start button crashes

Just to add what Shadowstealer was saying about the stats on the savegames. Everything was zero (apart from level of character) up until using the fix in level 18. Once that was done and saved I deleted the files out the directory and it is now stuck at x number of kills and x number of minutes (how...

Re: Possible fix to Start button crashes

Yep, works here as well. Was having a hell of a time trying to get the Inferno level to work up to the point of giving up altogether and uninstalling. So is it safe to delete those files in the Mission folder or is it really going to muck up the exp given that badly? EDIT: I put the files back in ag...

Hmm, it's now showing as 'not available to pre-order'. Also Zeus's review has disappeared as well.
Any updates on an official UK release date yet?

Okay. I'll see if I can find the secret in level 9 (if there is one) and hope this doesn't pop up again. :)

EDIT: Grabbed a secret in level 9 and 10 and showed correctly this time. :D

Is it normal for it to pop up 'You have already collected this secret' even when it's a completely new level I am on? Could it have anything to do with the fact I used the 'at your own risk' save file for level 8 as I was having crashing problems, then I deleted it and finally made my own save or is...

On a side note, I'm crashing on the 'Oops' level when I click the Start button. Having looked at the steam forums (even though I have the disc version) I'll need to attempt replaying (again) the previous level in lower gfx settings to see if this works. I hope so as this is so much better a game tha...

Arrived this morning. Not had a chance to install it but will do tonight! Only a tiny tiny tiny quibble (which I can't really complain about) is the manual is only in Finnish. But hey, considering the UK release of SG never even had a manual this is officially a step up! As they may say on e-b...

Cool. Looking a bit bare atm (of course) but the basics are there anyway! Obviously I had to test it worked 100% correctly so I of course ordered SGS. (Hey, better than waiting until May!) Really appreciated the Finnish/English instructions set up in the purchase page. On a sidenote, will the...
