Re: Empty destination directory

To get any output about the issue for debugging, you should try to launch the game manually by typing the following in a console, while in the Trine 2 installation directory: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib/lib32 bin/trine2_linux_32bit That should probably give out some error output to the console. If ...

Re: Trine 2 for Linux - no audio

Glad to know you got it working with the OSS. I'm still curious to hear about any possible 64-bit plans, though. :-) As far the 64 bit plans go... The game uses a middleware library that has no 64 bit linux version available (or at least it did not have it the last I asked about it). So at the momen...

Re: Trine 2 for Linux - no audio

Hi, Sorry about the audio troubles... And unfortunately, at this point, I don't think I have any clear answers on how to get past that issue... A few random suggestions that come to mind though: Since that issue would seem to somehow relate to the OpenAL ALSA driver, it might make sense to try some ...

Re: I can't set my monitor's resolution (64bit linux)

As for this next version you talk about, do you announce your new releases somewhere or should I keep checking the humble link? And also, are incremental patches available somewhere? downloading the entire installer was somewhat painful the first time : ) I'm sure the next patch release will be ann...

Re: Quality difference between Windows and GNU/Linux version

As far as the video quality goes... I guess the difference could be due to double compression. I don't know if the source for the Trine Linux version videos was actually the compressed version or the raw uncompressed version. Of course, some of the difference could also be because of just using a to...

Re: I can't set my monitor's resolution (64bit linux)

Like Jussi already mentioned, the resolution can be changed by manually modifying the ~/.frozenbyte/Trine2/options.txt file. The only requirements for any custom resolutions are that it should be at least 512 in width and height (the currently released Trine 2 linux version has issues on some graphi...

Re: [Trine 2] Launch problem on Crunchbang Linux 64 Bits

Well, unfortunately I can't really say right off the bat why that error is occurring... I'd go with the guess of saying that something is still wrong with the OpenGL libraries / nvidia driver installation... The first steps to try to pinpoint that might be to see what glxinfo says (and perhaps try g...

Re: [Trine 2] Launch problem on Crunchbang Linux 64 Bits

Hi, Sorry to hear the game is not starting up for you... Based on that crash address, its most likely the same as experienced in these forum posts... (Its the SDL library crashing as it fails with its OpenGL window initialization.) http://frozenbyte.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4237 In that ca...

Re: Ubuntu install

It seems your nvidia drivers aren't correctly installed. There's a reference to a mesa lib that shouldn't be there. How have you installed the nvidia drivers? You should have used the Ubuntu method, from the hardware drivers window. Yeah, this is the issue that prevents Trine 2 from running, you ca...

Re: (Solved) [Trine2] Black screen from the beginning on Lin

I think I'm having the same black screen problem, and going through the readme and looking through the packages didn't fix it for me. Hi, From the ldd output you posted, I find the line: libGL.so.1 => /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 (0xf67b5000) ...very suspicious, as that would indicate th...

Re: Trine2 runs but no window

Apparently that crash dump indicated that the issue is something HID device (most likely a gamepad that is) related. It could be a buggy / not properly installed gamepad driver or some other issue. You probably should try disconnecting any gamepads or other input devices that you have connected and ...

Re: Trine2 runs but no window

EDIT: see my other post following this one, about the crash dump (It more likely explains the cause of the issue). I'm assuming we're talking about the steam version here... Validating the game cache integrity in steam might always be a good thing to try. If that does not help, it could perhaps be ...

Re: Random black screen

I certainly don't have any definite answer on this issue, but it seems like the issue is most likely related to that specific hardware / crossfire, since that seems to be the one thing common here. (I might be mistaken, but as far as I know, we haven't had other reports of exactly this kind of issue...

Re: (Solved) [Trine2] Black screen from the beginning on Lin

This solution made the game load, but a lot of images aren't loading. The character graphics and a lot other appears as a colored wireframe! someone knows if there is a hack to make it work? I assume you have an Intel HD 3000 graphics chip as well? Have you checked what the glxinfo outputs for you?...

Re: [Trine 2] Ubuntu/Linux Audio-Music Stuttering & Popping

Hi, So far we've managed to see this issue on one computer. And unfortunately, we have no perfect solution for it at this time. It would most likely seem to be some issue with specific audio libraries and hardware. Quoting the known linux issues file: - Specific systems/OpenAL versions cause crackli...

Re: Trine2 Assertion failed at pulsecore

These pulseaudio related issues are rather curious, specifically when they are occurring in the fullscreen mode but not in the windowed mode (or affected by root vs user account running the game). From the Trine 2 game perspective, there really should be no difference. In fullscreen, the game merely...

Re: When is Trine 2 for Linux comming

I have TRINE-2 downloaded from Humble Bundle, and it is working very well. I do have one question - I purchased the "Collector's Edition", but as far as I can tell it only downloaded Trine2, not the original Trine, or the other content. Did I mess something in the download process? Thanks...

Re: Trine2 ,Linux , Multimonitor problem - please fix

We'll try to add a mouse grabbing support to the game in the next patch. That should allow running the game in multi monitor setups - without the mouse running off to the second display. Meanwhile, if possible, you should probably consider disabling the other display from the nvidia control panel wh...

Re: [Trine2] Black screen from the beginning on Linux

I'm sorry to hear that the game does not work for you... :( I think the official minimum requirements for Trine 2 on linux are somewhere around NVIDIA GeForce 7600 or better / ATi Radeon HD 2400 or better. But, in theory though, I think the Intel HD Graphics 3000 should have the necessary capabiliti...

Re: Trine2 for Linux - window mode

Hi again, I've just been testing this issue and it seems that though the 640x480 resolution (without anti-aliasing) occasionally seems to work for nvidia cards (I haven't been able to determine what the exact logic is), most of the time it will fail with a fully black screen. (And the reason for thi...

It might also be useful in tracking down any issues with Trine 2 on Fedora 16.

Notes on getting Trine 2 running on Fedora 16 (Linux)

Ok, I just made a fresh install of the Fedora 16 a few days ago to test out some of the reported crash issues and such. And while doing so, I wrote down some notes of the steps I did after the Fedora installation to get it running Trine 2. I thought it might be useful to post those notes here, in ca...

There seem to be a few alternative workarounds for this: Option ...
