I had the best luck getting both SG & SGS demos w/o errors from the Meridian 4 mirrors, whatever they are, and I believe the one from there is the one that doesn't have a time limit. I seem to recall there being two versions of the demos, one has a time limit and one doesn't, but I can't remembe...

I don't remember if you have tried these two things, but if you haven't, try lowering the graphics settings to low with Anisotropic and AA disabled, with all the special effects disabled. I think I remember you still getting the crash with the physics turned off in the config file, and I don't think...

I got through the demo, after making sure to avoid the various items and creatures that would cause the crash. It would usually be a specific creature, barrel, and projectile weapon causing it, while using grenades to kill seemed to make it happen a lot less. I got a copy of SGS for cheap, and beat ...

Managed to finish the demo after multiple crashes of the same type, so am going to buy it and hope for the best. Thanks for the help, and I'll start a new topic here once I get the full version if I continue to have problems.

Downloaded the latest driver from Creative for the Live series and WIN XP, and it adds a little FPS, but the issue continues with the sound enabled, Hardware and EAX or neither, at 44 & 22K. It seems to center around firing shots most of the time, not necessarily ones that have to hit a creature...

Sorry about that last chunk, I just realized what the log_errors file was for... Good news, at least for this error. With sound disabled, I was able to get past that area into the next one, where I promptly had the cocky feeling of killing my first few scytheworms ruined by flaming red balls of swar...
