Micro Stutter.

I got round to gifting my extra Steam copy of Shadowgrounds to a friend the other day, and he mentioned to me that it suffered from the dreaded micro-stutter. I'm talking here about the annoying glitch that has been known to happen to some people in some games like FC2, Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Anywa...

Re: Tried Demo, Disappointed

Bottom line, this game is begging to be used with a gamepad, but a gamepad makes it unplayable (in the sense that it literally prevents you from doing things you could with a KB/M.) -G Don't know what the issue is really. I played through the entire game with a 360 joypad and didn't have a problem....

Re: Tower Level - Frozenbyte fails!

Already tried this level like 20 times, but keep diing every time :( Looks like i wont be able finish game. However rest of the levels are awesome. Is there some cheat to stop lava rising? Its simply to hard for me otherwise.. Try some of voodoochile's tips above. Fortunately, that level isn't actu...

I guess it's fair play really. Before when someone has asked me what Shadowgrounds is like, I've described it as what Alien Breed might have been like if the Amiga could have done 3d properly. But yes, I did a double-take when I saw those screenshots ;)

Re: could been so much better add your ideas too

I definitely agree about the monster variety. Although I didn't get bored with the hordes of skeletons, it would have been nice for more than a couple of standard versions. Undead could include zombies as well, or even skeletal/zombie versions of different creatures.

Re: Tower Level - Frozenbyte fails!

The problem is it's totally at odds with the play-style of the rest of the game. Exactly! That's what makes it feel fresh and challenging, ergo rewarding when completed. I feel like Lauri said, that the level is a kind of boss fight. In my opinion, as I wrote before, the problem is that the struggl...

Re: Tower Level - Frozenbyte fails!

Might as well throw in my two pence... I come down on the side of finding the last level annoying. The problem is it's totally at odds with the play-style of the rest of the game. Maybe if there had been smaller (and easier to start with) similar sections scattered throughout the game that gradually...

For the record, i didnt play on easy. I played on normal. And i think i missed 2 of all the chests placed out there and 1-5 exp on each level. It wasnt like i rushed through it or something, i just played tried to find everything and bam 4 hours later i completed it, i mean there wasnt even a real ...

Still has the same problem (at least for me) where it doesn't remember that I've set the controls to the joypad, and I have to reselect it each time I load the game.

Re: Something wrong with the intro movie/cinematic of the game?

Only problem I have with the video is that it displays a couple of extra rows of pixels, seemingly copied from the actual video, across the bottom of the screen. Quite distracting. Shadowgrounds Survivor does the same though, so I'm assuming they're using the same codec. Actually, saying that, the o...

Re: Aww man.. no online Co-op?

Thought for FB: for your next game, just tell everyone that it will be single player only. I'm sure you'd get less hassle than only including one form of co-op play, and then when the game is released and it has got co-op, it'll just be seen as an unexpected bonus.

Re: Trine PC Priced at $40?

Yeah trine can do good with this price, but it could do ways better with lower price, however again lowering later means RIPPING fans like me now. If next time that will happen i will happily pirate next FB title. Fair exchange. How pathetic. If you buy a film on dvd only for it to come down in pri...

For those in the UK who don't use Steam or just want the boxed version, Game seem to be the cheapest having it for pre-order (online) at £17.99.

Re: Questions about Trine on the PC

especially since the logitech rumblepads are kind of the defacto standard for gamepads for the pc platform, xbox gamepads are certainly not. Might be where you live, but 360 pads are the prevailing choice among everyone I know. However, I'd agree it needs to work regardless of what make of pad you ...

No problem here (£20 in the UK on Steam). Not very often these days that I play a game and am, well, just charmed by it.

The demo wasn't supposed to be released like this, so I'll use that as an excuse as to why some things are a bit unpolished (although truth be told, some of the above issues will be in the final game too). Re: demo feedback/bugs

Only slowdown I noticed was when I tried to use 4xAA (running on an nVidia 280GTX). Even lowering the res didn't help. Put it at 2x and it was flawless.

With saving, I'm guessing it'll be a bit like Shadowgrounds, which iirc only actually saved the game between missions/stages.

Re: Trine DEMO

Fantastic demo - congrats :) I know it's only a demo, but I've a couple of observations/suggestions: The first time I quit the game, it hung due to Zone Alarm when it tried to open a browser before the game had exited. The game kept focus and wouldn't allow me to switch to Windows to sort out the Zo...
