Re: Sticky: Forum guidelines/FAQ, read before posting!

Ah, their page says that they sell keys of retail versions, which can not be used with Steam. Therefore, it's only useful to buy from them if you already have the CD, but lost your key - or so. Illegal or not, it still seems pretty odd.

Re: Sticky: Forum guidelines/FAQ, read before posting!

Alright, that's good to know :) I removed the link from my post, I guess you better do the same for the quote then.
I've heard that the retail version of Trine ist generally multilingual, so I guess if one seeks to make a bargain that's the way to go :)

Re: Sticky: Forum guidelines/FAQ, read before posting!

I don't want to create a new topic about it, as it seems a bit shady: This (link removed) site sells Trine at a pretty low price. Is that even a legal deal?

Re: Suggestion: "Unlearning" skills

I agree about the need of skill respec option. You can find out later in the game you'd like to have the other skill, but you realize you've already chosen another one so you can't have it. I suppose it won't be very hard to implement in one of the further patches. That's actually not what I ment. ...

Suggestion: "Unlearning" skills

I haven't played all levels, yet, but I think it would be nice if you could "unlearn" skills. For example unlearn the Thief's double and triple shot, so you only fire a single arrow again. This wouldn't be a good idea if it was possible at any time, but maybe it could be an unlockable feat...

Re: Some bugs *Updated 6/30/09*

I forgot to mention another bug. There is an issue with the fireballs when you pause the game. For example when one of those cannons shoots a fireball, you press ESC and then resume the game, another fireball will be fired very quickly. Seemingly the cannon's timer isn't paused with the rest of the ...

Re: Game was waayy too short :(

It may be very different for other players, but I find it very fun to replay previous levels several times, especially with new skills you didn't have the first time around. Also, in most situations in most levels I love to experiment, try out different ways to progress. Even if there is a clear, si...

Re: Some bugs *Updated 6/30/09*

I've had few bugs, nothing major. Apart from the controls not saving upon quitting the game, which is apparently known already, I've had these two: -If you navigate the "Choose level"-screen with the gamepad, you can't select a level and only view your progression (secret and exp found, et...

There is a list of all achievements, sorted by the amount of people who earned them, here: http://steamcommunity.com/stats/Trine/achievements/ :) Apart from the typical "Get all experience points in a level" achievements there are some pretty cool ones :D Maybe there could be some more of ...

Re: Who was your first favorite character, and who eventually?

Favorite character before I'd played Trine: None, they all look very cool in the trailers. Favorite character after I'd played through the demo (several times): Certainly the thief, starts out with the coolest abilities, by far. Swinging around is very much fun and versatile, as is shooting the bow....

Re: Trine on iphone!

I could also imagine it to work quite well and there'd definitely a lot of room to use the iPhone's / iPod Touch's abilities in a game like Trine. But, the game would clearly have to be made from the ground up for that device, I'm sure it would be simply impossible to just port Trine over as it is. ...

Is it really not worth your time to do this? I'm almost positive your time would have been well spent (making your customers happy AND profitability) developing multiplayer capabilities for this program, so it was hard for me to believe that you neglected to include this (what I think to be) key fe...

Whatever. So far they haven't confirmed that there will ever be online play. It's just a bunch of ifs. I'm not buying a game based on ifs. And you shouldn't, that's what even the developers say :) If you don't think the game is worth it for what it offers right now, well, then you'll have to pass u...

Re: Trine PC Priced at $40?

Huh, so PC players end up paying twice as much as console gamers. Great way to alienate your existing fanbase. Even if all this is thanks to the publisher, you still had some say in going with said publisher in the first place. This is why giving up freedom for funding is bad idea, and might not ev...

Re: Any online activation on PC version?

Yeah. I doubt there's anything which would require online activation or anything because the whole game engine itself doesn't support anykind of online activity. Unfortuantely, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Lately there was great disappointment about the release of a highly anticipated ga...

Re: item (weapon-armor) drop system?

Not only that, but in each level you can also find hidden treasure chests which include items. In the demo there are two items which slightly increase the attributes of the wearer, much like in an action-rpg. In a trailer you can also see the warrior using a different weapon than in the demo, but I ...

lowhonor, you are wrong in several respects. Firstly, you can't just compare the content of one game to another and say that they have to be priced accordingly. Maybe you only pick games totally depending on the time it takes you to play through it, not at all taking into account how much fun you ac...
