Re: Trine 2 Patch 1.15 Feedback (Solved)

Expansion launch also enabled sharpness control for SSAA. These settings can be found from %APPDATA%/Trine2/options.txt : setOption(renderingModule, "BicubicAA", -1) setOption(renderingModule, "BicubicAASharpness", 0.30000001192093) First one controls when the effect is enabled. ...

Re: Trine 2 Patch 1.15 Feedback (Solved)

Bicubic/FXAA controls haven't been implemented yet. I'm hoping they'd get in 'soon', but I can't promise exact time frame at the moment. DevShaderProcessingQualitySelection is a development feature which doesn't do anything in the actual game. It's not exact comparison, but currently you can switch ...

Re: Trine 2 Patch 1.15 Feedback (Solved)

It's a combination of several things. Bloom quality has been increased on higher shader detail levels (it's less blocky), and it's using more texture samples to do this. Another change is that we filter away tiny bright pixels as they were causing some flickering. It also means that overall bloom in...

Re: Game runs really slow

If you want to change only the setting affecting the loading times, you can try the following. Open %APPDATA%/Trine2/options.txt (you can just copy paste that path to explorer). Find the following lines and change the values to match these: setOption(renderingModule, "UseHalfResolutionTextures&...

Re: FXAA in Trine 2

I agree that the way FXAA option works is not ideal. It was added as main anti aliasing solution as for many of our users SSAA is too demanding. That said, I can't promise more FXAA options to our launcher. However, I can add some FXAA parameters to options.txt. This is not ideal, but it would allow...

Re: Trine 2 Patch 1.15 Feedback

We are going to switch to fxaa 3.11 for expansion. It won't be a speed up as such, though, as higher detail levels will use higher fxaa quality settings.

We are going to patch the bloom/sharpness issue, but I can't promise any ETA at the moment.

Re: Trine 2 Patch 1.15 Feedback

We are using 3.9 version of FXAA. As for speed, there shouldn't be any change on the speed of FXAA implementation. However, we have always run FXAA for the super sampled frame before down sampling. In other words, FXAA gets more expensive the higher super sampling level is being used. As for the dif...

Re: HELP!: How to enable 3D Stereoscopic Display on Mac ?

Currently stereo outputs have only been implemented for D3D (Windows) rendering, and they do not work on other platforms. What is your use case, are you trying to use manual output modes (Side-by-Side etc) ?

Re: Trine 2 has blown me away! 3D Vision

fb_juha thank you for the detailed response, I am not that familiar with gamma and linear spaces (tried to do some reading in wiki, but still don't know that much), but from this thread - http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?p=10985#10985, where Zerofool has asked on the scaling for iz3d, it seems t...

Re: Trine 2 has blown me away! 3D Vision

Ok, I've tested SBS and Top-Bottom at [email protected] and I can say it is much more pleasing than 720p frame-packed with 3dvision. I only wanted to ask you guys would you recommend using the internal SBS or the one from iz3d, personally I see no sense in using iz3d's, but you are probably more familiar ...

Re: Trine 2 has blown me away! 3D Vision

FB_juha If I may ask - what is the biggest amount of GPU memory that Trine 2 uses in most demanding (memory wise) scene? Without AA, 3D. I noticed 190-250MB depending on resolution and not even 400MB when 1080p +AA enabled. Makes me wonder what could happen if somehow you've found some spare time t...

Re: Trine 2 has blown me away! 3D Vision

Great news, if there is SBS, this would finally mean 1080p instead of 720, which would really be awesome. I am probably too late in this, but is it possible that if you decide to include this output you make it over-under as well as side-by-side, since some tvs, like the Panasonic VT20 have much be...

Re: Trine 2 has blown me away! 3D Vision

We are preparing a bit bigger patch for stereo things (more outputs etc). It should contain fix for the incorrect cursor fading and also a (config file) option to disable this fading completely. Before that patch there really isn't anything that can be done for it. Hopefully we get patch out this we...

Re: PC Vs. Consoles

Sorry, I missed this post. Information below applies to both consoles. Console builds use post-process anti-aliasing called FXAA. Compared to PC, texture quality isn't that much lower - there are something between 30-40 textures which have been down scaled by dropping the highest mipmap level for co...

Re: Trine 2 demo 100 FPS CAP?

In 3D Vision mode we render view for both eyes each game play tick, so we are able to output up to 100 fps for both eyes. As for option to remove 100fps cap, we are most likely going to to implement it in later patches. Christmas holidays are interfering a bit on our schedules, so I can't yet say wh...

No, sadly we don't support stereo on consoles. It's also unlikely that it would be patched in later.

Re: Trine 2 demo 100 FPS CAP?

Currently 100 fps lock is there on all versions, and it can't be removed.

It should be possible to add an option to remove it, though. I can't promise an exact time frame for this, but it should be an relatively easy thing to patch.

Re: Trine 2 Constant Freezing

Settings / Visual Settings now has an option for frame rate cap. To see if it's a cooling issue, you can set it to low'ish number (default is 30) and check if the problem goes away.

Recent updates shouldn't have done anything which would have affected on rendering performance / requirements.

Count me in as one who's fortunate enough to enjoy Trine 2 in its glorious stereo-3D. I'm playing on a 58" 3DTV using nVidia 3DTV Play. :D One thing I noticed, though, is that I couldn't change the convergence in 3DTV Play. I was able to do this with the original Trine game. Not sure if this i...

Currently that value will be clamped to 0. It's possible to remove this clamping, and with a quick look it seems it would work as well.

That said, fix for this won't make it to a patch before next week.

Re: Low FPS issues slow in 3d not 2d

It could be that 3D Vision drivers are forcing the game to run with vertical sync. If this is done in driver side, then fps can behave erratically - being just shy of 60fps means that the game will actually run in 30fps and so on. Does it help if you set Trine 2 to use vertical sync from our own lau...

Re: Game crashes to windows : data1.fbq corrupted...

If Steam detects file corruption as well, then it shouldn't be a problem in Trine 2. We never modify fbq's located in game directory, so that file is getting corrupted for some other reason. This could indicate a hardware and/or software problem. As a first step it's probably a good idea to check yo...
