Re: Trine Win7 64bit won't start

Trine 2's a bit different than Trine I'd say. I had no problems with Trine 2 personally on Win7 64-bit.

Are you saying you're simply missing the game's executable? That would be quite a strange issue to have. Have you done a verify in Steam?

Definitely :). I know how hard decisions like this can be. Being a game developer now myself, I'm in the same boat.

Re: Suggestions

Is surround gaming supported? I've been doing this more and more these days and have actually tried it on and off for the last 3-4 years now. Until I finally figured out how to get it working with non-same display resolutions, it wasn't working. So my question is, am I able to do something like thi...

Re: Suggestions

When I was saying about "no revolution" and "no evolution" I was thinking about games like Mass Effect and Mass Effect3 where game was first rpg and than become Gears of War action clone. I'm talking about radical change that eliminate things that was good in first one (and make...

Re: Network games, please?

I was specifically noting how smoothly the online play is for Magicka. With tons of enemies on the screen and up to four players, it's smooth as can be for the most part aside from the game's random crashes and other fallbacks. The other neat thing is the ability to have a local player, a LAN player...

Re: Network games, please?

Joel, thanks for that :P. I still remember modem connecting to my friend's PC for online gaming back in the day. I'm sure you guys'll make it as smooth as other indie games like Magicka. Question, are you still going to include local play? I really like the local stuff for when I have people over or...

Re: Network games, please?

More recently, I've been using online play now. I think there just aren't enough people physically around to play in my vicinity anymore which really sucks. I guess this is also why I haven't been playing many games lately besides the fact that most are single-player-only anyway.

Re: Any games by frozenbyte with multi?

I'm not quite sure what the idea was though (unless you meant work-for-hire stuff or just co-operating with some other companies - but there's always a catch). Anyhow, this thread is so old that the info here is sort of outdated. Trine has been a good success and we have finally been able to rewrit...

Re: Any games by frozenbyte with multi?

hey fb_joel, ever re-considering tie-ing up with bigger companies? i mean, doing it for the budget and money or such. i know, i am being a prick and all. but mainstream has all the resources and all. i mean, there are somethings we can't do by our lonesome. i know it's political or whatnot, but doi...

Re: Network games, please?

Yeah totally. I think people are focusing a bit too much on Internet capabilities of the devices and not realizing the potential local play, something which could just as easily be integrated. It's really sad when your computer can see the computer next to it, but the game you're playing cannot and ...

Re: Trine Wont Start

That's great you're considering the modification to the configuration utility. I'm not using 2.8.1, but I know nVIDIA said the card works so long as you the SDK used to program the game was 2.8.1 or before. I have the newest PhysX drivers in my PC. The driver the card is using says something about D...

Re: Trine Wont Start

I do own the games but good idea on using the demo. It's easier to do a quick test with a demo than a full game download on Steam. I'm assuming the problem was with the WMV drivers, but I can't imagine why because disabling video didn't make it work. It could've been a combination of updating my Phy...

I guess I must've forgotten this was ...

You're right. I guess I feel spoiled because my keyboard allows up to 10 keys at once. ihatedurians, does your buddy have a keyboard and mouse? Just pull them off of that computer and you should be good.

Re: TRINE coop 1 keyboard

Hmm. I do realize I wasn't quite answering your question there, but no, because each class uses the mouse in some way, the only way to get it to work is if you emulate the mouse using your keyboard. If you could find a program that, for instance, emulates the mouse directions using the number pad, t...

Re: Trine Wont Start

Joel, just so you and others here know, the problem with games crashing before starting seems to be a PhysX issue. I don't know if it's having a PhysX card that affects it or having ATi+Crossfire+PhysX or what, but it's clear to me almost all of my problems are PhysX-related as I get the same instan...

Re: TRINE coop 1 keyboard

I haven't played trine too much but I was wondering if it would be possible to just play coop with one set of keyboard + mice. I know wizard has to draw stuff, so technically that's the only character that needs a mouse. The rouge and knight seem to just use buttons or could be done gunbound style....

Haha, I was able to pull the meaning out of context.I was merely noting it's a stupid made-up word which came about because some people are trying to change gaming terminology to suit their needs and confuse the rest of us..

Re: Aspect Ratio problem with non-16:9 resolutions

I wrote a post on what I think all PC games should have. This post I wrote after having played PC games since age 6 and going through all sorts of different problems along the way transitioning around to different hardware and display devices. Here's the link: http://blog.umkcddr.com/?p=2136
