Re: Refresh rate override not working for me

Notice how I tried to separate the two terms in my post? If anyone began to understand the difference before, they are now confused more than ever after reading yours. What was the point?

Re: Refresh rate override not working for me

Just wanted to mention that this is a source of confusion for many people. Refresh rate (measured in Hz) is not the same as frame rate (measured in fps). The question here is about frame rate, but the OP was initially trying to change the refresh rate instead, which is why the change did not seem to...

Re: Board known issues

Is there any chance of resolving that server issue? Or perhaps a different server could be configured for that purpose? E-mail notifications are something I rely on quite a lot when using forums.

Re: Trine reboots my PC. Software or hardware issue?

Don't ignore my advice. An Ethernet adapter can be doing this, especially when chimney offloading is enabled. Some poorly written USB device drivers can cause it as well, and they can introduce a lot of latency, too.

Re: Trine and its uninstaller icon

Well, I just wanted to do it the "right" way, the way the installer supports. I could probably go looking for a free tool to replace the icon on the unist000.exe file, but the registry hack is easier. And of course I don't expect you to fix it for any past programs as it's not a big issue ...

Re: Trine and its uninstaller icon

Do the uninstallers have correct icons in the Start menu? Yes, and that's the part that puzzles me the most. I mean, for SG and SGS, they display the "setup" icon in the Start menu and the "program" icon in the "Uninstall or change programs" section. CCleaner sees the ...

Re: Trine reboots my PC. Software or hardware issue?

Disable the network card in BIOS and disconnect all USB devices. Since you have a non-Steam version, that shouldn't be a problem. See if it makes any difference.

Trine and its uninstaller icon

I am currently on Vista. When I open Control Panel\Programs and Features (that's where the game can be uninstalled), I see correct icons for SG and SGS, but Trine shows a generic uninstaller icon (like that of unins000.exe instead of trine.exe). I wonder if anyone knows how to change that icon. I kn...

Re: Standalone DRM Free Non Steam Version

The major problem with standalone non-DRM version would be lack of online multiplayer, as we plan to use steamworks for the online part of the game. We will consider this thing carefully, though. Why make a change in the face of such certain success as with the previous version of Trine. Online mul...

Re: My thoughts on Trine

When I just started playing, I found that I needed only the knight and the wizard, but mostly just the knight. I used the wizard when I needed to "cheat" and place a box to reach something the knight couldn't jump to. The thief, I switched to her only when I absolutely needed her rope. The...

Shadowgrounds Editor for HB

The Shadowgrounds game from Humble Bundle seems to come without an editor. When I try to install it, it complains that the game is either a demo or a Steam version, then aborts. Is this intentional? (Survivor's editor is included in the bundle, by the way.)

Hmm. Somehow a one-eyed legless Zoya doesn't appeal much to me...

Legless, fair enough, but who said anything about one-eyed?

I think I spent a little too much time looking at the cow.

Re: PhysX results in stuck actors

Yes, the game works fine for me in software. I get a jerk or two when enemies are generated in the hell level, but the rest of the game seems mostly unaffected. I do get the problem with unresponsive shotgun (reported by someone much earlier), but I don't think PhysX has anything to do with this. He...

Trophies for PC

I realize that trophies are for PSN, though I have no idea how buying them works. However, this INFO: Unlocked trophy throw_kill_combo INFO: Unlocked trophy kill_with_many_styles makes me wonder: Would it be possible to make a small viewer for savegames to list trophies on PC? Or would that somehow ...

Refresh rate tip

Full-screen games in the latest operating systems normally launch with a 60Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a good universal way to change this. 60Hz is rarely a problem for LCD users, but the low refresh can be seen as “flickering” on CRT screens (those older “not flat” mon...

PhysX results in stuck actors

The game in question is Shadowgrounds: Survivor. When I enable the PhysX option from Launcher, my character can't move from its spot as level starts. F8 + "help" does nothing. The enemies can't seem to move, either (an easy win in Final Countdown!). Movement animations play fine, but posit...

Re: question about ingame languages

We have to check if it's possible to make a separate patch to include all languages which are not in the north American version by default. This would certainly make it easier for those of us who love the software to advertise it to our friends and family. Developers often wrongly assume that, for ...

EAX in Trine

First, let me say that I don't have "good" ears: Setting or unsetting EAX doesn't really make much difference to my hearing in most cases. So, this is purely technical... Since I have an X-Fi card, I usually enable EAX in games. Trine uses FMOD, which should be able to use OpenAL natively ...

Re: Recording Trine to a CD

Wow. Just... wow. Thank you soooooo much! The icon is exactly what I wanted. The images, I was looking for something that I can burn to a CD using LightScribe , hopefully with name of the game (you know, like silk-screening a disk, only it's all black'n'white, or, rather, black and whatever the colo...

Recording Trine to a CD

I have purchased a Trine download, v.1.03, and patched it to 1.08. The setup file is named TrinePC_Online.exe. There's nothing "online" about it, of course, other than the fact that it was purchased online. The problem is that it doesn't have a Trine icon in it, just your regular setup ico...
