Sound problems on Linux

I'm having problems with sound in Trine 2 v1.14 on Ubuntu 11.10 32bit (crackling noise/music stopping). The worst case for that problem so far was the Petrified Tree level. I'm using Open Sound System OSSv4 (v4.2-2006) not the default PulseAudio + ALSA setup. I've upgraded OpenAL to 1.14 using packa...

Re: Trine2 Assertion failed at pulsecore

When the first Trine came out users running it on a distributions with PulseAudio were starting it with padsp command:

padsp ./trine-launcher

Maybe that will solve the problem.

Re: Couple of bugs

I'm on Linux (using Wine) and I've also experienced the bug loosing functionality of one hero (in singleplayer). That happend in the first boss fight (in the caves). Pontius became completly useless a couple of times during the fight, but switching characters resloved that (between Zoya and Pontius).

Re: Steam's Trine 2 Beta on Linux (wine)

I'm the one that have this problem (in the bug report). I still haven't found a solution. I've tried runnig Trine 2 with MouseWarpOverride set to disable, but cursor still sits in the bottom right corner. Installing dinput8 and xinput with winetricks also didn't work. I've also compiled Wine with th...

Re: Upcoming Linux version

The solution for buying a Linux version of Trine is indeed very satisfactory just as you stated in the second post of this thread.

I bought my copy yesterday but I'm curious how one would buy Trine when the HFB ends. The only way probably will be Desura when the Linux client comes out.

Re: Upcoming Linux version

As of running Trine on Linux via wine you can check it on Wine AppDB. It has Gold status wihich means it's working with dll overrides (not on clean wine installation). Use winetricks to install physx wmp10 and d3dx9_36.dll. Those are that overrides. Winetricks is a script (both CLI and GUI) that aut...
