In general buying a new videocard is better for playing "mordern" games. The Geforce 4Mx was a crap card. Luckily, I decided to buy a Geforce4Ti4200 at that time these cards came out. There might be a way to get the game running. But I fear this would mean to decrease the shader performance=visual q...

Sadly many players with that card have difficulties running the game. FB is looking for a fix. For most people the game crashes inside the main menu, Try setting the game to the lowest settings. If it works, slowly increase it. BTW: the game also needs a decent windows swapfile as well (2GB). "These...

Ein deutsches Forum gibt es leider (noch) nicht. Das Problem mit dem Hauptmenu wurde hier schon mehrfach beklagt. SG arbeitet an einem Patch. Kannst Du mir mal Deine Systemeckdaten geben? OS; CPU; RAM, KARTE VRAM, Treiber, Windowsauslagerungsdateigröße. Ich werde Deinen Post mal übersetzen, sonst ge...

I don't use such software mentioned and still have problems from time to time.

Also, I think FB didn't have much of a choice with the copy-protection.
Business is like: "Sign the publisher contract to these terms or be gone..." :(

Have you tried an older video driver too?
And the problem remains?

Have you tried an older Nvidia driver?
Also, I would try running the game at lowest graphical settings in order to avoid this bug.

Perhaps this works as temporary fix.
No fun at all, but at least worth a try.

I´m not sure does the game work in my computer, so I can anyone tell? Information of my PC http://img306.imageshack.us/img306/7841/nimetn5ai.png I doubt it, as the biggest problem might be your gfx card. But you could download and test the German demo of sg. If that runs, the full game will for sure.

If you have 180 € in your budget, I would buy an x800gto. For me it has the best vakue/price atm. Or perhaps a newer x1600, but I don't know how expensive these are. Its called on-board or integrated video card or how I name them crap cards. :)

Sorry to say that but these cards are the worst cards you can ever buy for gaming. And they will most likely not be able to run the game... :(

The crashing to desktop bug might be the same with the one from bf2.
The game needs a BIG windows swapfile.

Try to check your size, it should be 2.5 times the amount of total ram you have!

I have the same issues here sometimes. German version and Phillips CD-Rom. But at least the copyprotection is not that noisy than in bf2. :) Btw: Was the decision to put it on 2 CDs and not 1 DVD also a Pubisher decision? Can't understand why you did not put all language files on one DVD. That would...

Joel, could you make a rough list of all bugs/glitches that have already been reported and confirmed? And perhaps which one are worked on for the next patch? This way one avoids double posts. And its easier for the team to keep track of new issues. I'm only a hobby programmer, but methods to simplif...

Bug: Weather station, mission flags not set correctly?

Hi! In the level where you have to defend the weather station I found out that it doesn't matter if you fight the aliens or not. Aliens still ran around in the base and the commander asks me to come to his office in order to find the missing APC outside?!? Also the Alien AI some kinds of "shuts" dow...

Hi! I'm playing on a TFT display and therefore I need to increase the gamma settings a bit. Each time a new level loads / cutscene starts the gamma values are reset to the default value.
