Re: Mac: Gamma problem

I can't think of anything that would cause this but it would not be a big surprise if the gamma slider is a bit broken. The games are based on rather old code and might have this kind of issues...

Have you tried if the gamma slider works in Trine? That would be a good thing to test.

Re: No text in the console

This is either of two things: 1) the game data files are somehow corrupt because the console should not be black, it should be partly transparent, 2) related to that, it could be that the Intel GMA 965 cannot for some reason render the console correctly. I'm somewhat surprised it even runs the game ...

One thing to try is to re-download the game. This has solved at least one similar issue (here).

Re: Release date

We are using the console certification time to focus on PC/Mac usability/technical. That means menus, better mouse support, Steamworks integration for multiplayer, installer, launcher utility (if we're going to have one), that kind of stuff (and technical testing on different computers - we haven't ...

Re: Showdowgrounds Survivor Won't Launch

It sounds like it could be a PhysX issue. Did you install PhysX? In any case you should probably uninstall whatever version you have and then reinstall the latest PhysX drivers . This should help I believe... Other alternatives are outdated DirectX files. The Quadro FX 2800M graphics card is a bit o...

Re: Main menu fades to white [WIN7]

Ah this sounds/looks familiar, just can't remember the issue... One thing to try is to disable the videos and especially menu videos. Perhaps even go to Config\options.txt and scroll to the bottom and check no video related options are enabled. This might be a WMV issue and our videos cause some wei...

Re: Chapter length

Ah, indeed... Well with SGS we were aware of the limitations of our save system so we designed the levels to be a lot shorter. This worked well for the most part I think, although there are a few that run a bit longer. On average they shouldn't last more than 15 minutes each. There's no handy estima...

Re: Trine Freezes at Rose Picture on Initial Startup

Ok, let's add an exception to DEP for Trine: Follow the instructions at:
http://www.itechtalk.com/thread3591.html

This may or may not help but it's definitely worth a shot, because it may cause these kind of problems.

Re: Graphic artifacts cover screen

This is most likely a graphics driver issue of sorts... but one thing to try is to re-download the game and see if that helps. Sometimes corrupted data files cause weird graphics issues.

Re: Trine Mac system requirements

Hmm sounds a bit interesting. If the windowed mode works fine, that's very strange. I don't know why it would behave differently... With windowed mode, it will show the Dock, right? I was going to suggest maximizing the window (editing the options.txt file, but it might also be the default setting),...

Re: Steam launch, dvorak layout. Unplayable.

Yes the game has trouble with Dvorak. The Dvorak->Qwerty remembering issue on the other hand is a bug in SDL, which is one of the libraries used in the Mac version. I'm not sure if there is anything we can do about that at the moment. (One thing you might try is changing the system language, maybe t...

Re: Trine Freezes at Rose Picture on Initial Startup

Hmm, sounds like you've tried the suggested things in the FAQ . Do you get no progress bar at all, or does it get stuck at 5-10%? No progress bar at all is a bit strange... You could try running the game in Windowed mode - disable Fullscreen, or better yet, go to Config\options.txt and change the ma...

Re: Trine hard-quitting w/o Error Message

PhysX will install fine on computers with ATi cards, there isn't anything to stop it... Try the link above just to be sure.

But yeah the problem is PhysX, we need to get it properly installed and then Trine will work. You already found the other new thread so we can continue there.

Re: Trine Textures not rendering??

This is most likely a corrupted download. So download the game again and hopefully it works. :) (Could also be a graphics hardware/software issue but your graphics card should certainly be able to run the game.)

Re: Trine (PC Version) Wii controller glovepie scripts

I can't quite help with the actual problem, but I will point out that in version 1.08 of Trine we moved from DirectInput to XInput if I'm correct... This may have an effect on how these scripts work. You can revert back and forth with this help.

Re: Physx Error with Radeon HD 4850

Yeah PhysX should run fine on computers with ATi cards (it just won't be able to use the GPU for any of its calculations - but I don't think we use that in Trine anyhow). These PhysX install problems can be very tricky though. The installer does have some silent/quiet modes which should be tested - ...

Re: Wizard problem :(

The bug is probably there still... However, it should be very rare, so if this happens, I'd suggest quitting the level and starting it again (or sticking to it if you've already progressed half-way through - the levels are roughly the same length). The latest version of the game is 1.09 . (The Humbl...

Re: Level editor: speculations, rumours and information

It's exclusive to the bundle currently, and it has some serious issues (which is the reason we haven't released it properly). You can load the levels and change the objects' positions and such I think, but you cannot modify any of the AI stuff or actual scripts, or add new objects, which affects eve...

Re: Keyboard Layouts

Ah, OnLive! Well that explains it. I see now that you did mention it in the original post, I just hadn't really realized it. Do other games on OnLive allow you to map the keys so that they work fine with Dvorak? I think there is (or was) some issues with allowing key mappings on OnLive earlier, so t...

If my very analytical and all-encompassing calculations are correct, we have October, November and December left of 2011. So yes, we have every intention of releasing the game sometime in 2011. The only thing that could stop this is some major problems in certification approval but I think we'll be ...
