Re: Outdated Version of Trine 3 on GOG

I have another problem with GOG version. It's using obsolete libpng 1.2 for the launcher, and on Debian testing it doesn't exist (it has only libpng 1.6), so the launcher simply fails to run. Is this fixed in the newer version and when do you plan to update the GOG build? Right now it's in the sate ...

Thanks. Looks like it only affects some users but not all. May be it's Nvidia specific?

Thanks, that's good to hear :)

[Linux] Pink screen instead of video tutorial

When I select video tutorial in the menu, I can hear narrator's voice, but the screen is just staying pink and nothing is shown until I hit Esc (then the game returns to the menu, but narrator is still talking). OS: current Debian testing (x86_64). DE: KDE Plasma 5.4.3. GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 (closed d...

[Linux] XDG base directory spec isn't followed

I just downloaded the demo from GOG, and the game looks quite promising. I'll buy it when it will come out! Special thanks for actually using the now almost forgotten practice of releasing demos. Now about the actual issue. I guess you still didn't have a chance to implement XDG base directory spec?...

I tested Trine 3 (GOG release), and it still creates $HOME/.frozenbyte so it doesn't follow XDG spec yet.

Re: [Linux] Trine 2 crashes on startup on 1+TB XFS partition

Well, I guess there's some good reason why partition size affects file reading and why this isn't fixed by default (I understand, why large file support can't be automatically fixed, just never even thought to look for large partition support). Mind you, neither of your links (the large file suppor...

Re: [Linux] Please use XDG directory specification

Though I'm sure once implemented, someone will come along and tell us we should have followed standard XYZ instead :D . -JLarja I think XDG standard is fairly sensible and is staying long term. :) I'm OK with not following it to the letter with splitting configs and data. Even if you put it all in ...

[Linux] Please use XDG directory specification

I noticed that currently Trine 2 (and Trine 1 actually as well) places user game data into $HOME/.frozenbyte which clutters $HOME directory. Current standard prescribes to place such files into designated locations, which are defined by XDG base directory specification: http://standards.freedesktop....

Re: [Linux] Trine 2 crashes on startup on 1+TB XFS partition

Thanks for your report. We are using normal Posix file functions, so I'm not really sure why they wouldn't work with big partitions. Could be that some of the libs we are using are doing something clever. Reason for 32 bit build is that we didn't have 64 bit libs for all the middle-ware we are usin...

[Linux] Trine 2 crashes on startup on 1+TB XFS partition

I tried running GOG release of Trine 2 on Linux (Debian testing x86_64) and it's crashing on startup (see below for a backtrace). I suspected it's related to large XFS partition (mine is 1.9TB), which affects a number of games that aren't released in 64 bits natively. So I created a small loop XFS p...
