I think your attitude towards Frozenbyte is arrogant, Dagon. Reviews are good for developers, but no game maker's life depend on one insight to their game.

I had some trouble with my copy protection. Do I contact Plan 1 for solutions?

I would like to know does the Shadowgrounds distributor of Finland (Plan 1, I believe?) use the same copy protection as they do in France?

Um, NikkyD, to my knowledge fb_jpk is not Joel.

I do indeed have integrated sound chip and have occassional problems with framerates, especially in 1.01. I have the latest drivers, but could it anyway be the source of my problems...?

I actually didn't manage to beat the final boss in difficulty level hard :D However, I must defend myself with saying that unofficial 1.01 decided to turn off all the sounds and musics from Shadowgrounds and gave me sluggish graphics :) Nevertheless, the thing killed me 10 times yesterday :) I've al...

In the beginning, Shadowgrounds' 3D-engine was a licensed engine called Storm3D by Sebastian Aaltonen (a Finnish 3D-graphics genius). However, since buying the license, Frozenbyte has heavily modified the engine, I believe. http://www.storm3d.cjb.net (pop-up alert!) Just thoguht I could give an answ...

Um, I think I mixed things here. Arwyn has nothing to do with this (this time) and I probably somehow accidentially answered to a wrong post. Sloppy reading of the first post I guess.

My estimation is that one play-through of Shadowgrounds lasts like 10 hours, maybe 14, depending do you read all the memos around the levels and search every corner. Triple that, if you start from difficulty level easy. Make it five times, if you are playing with 1.01 (new difficulty levels 'very ha...

What about the engine? For that you have to bring the ship to an other room.

I think I have encountered the same door bug... If you have installed the engine and the software, then there is no option but to restart the level.

The indestructable windows are there on purpose; the place that's beyond the door is supposed to be sterile, I think. The door to that place opens after you've aligned the spaceship and installed the software and engines.

I'd sacrifice some of the resolution to get more details in graphics and a good fps count. I play with everything at very high, resolution 1024*768 and 2xAA. Specs are AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (at 2,2 GHz) and Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb.

How are the strange slow-downs in graphics in unofficial 1.01 going to be addressed? I got one more strange bug in The Mines. Several times I noticed something fly fast through the screen between the camera and Tyler. One time I managed to see what it was, and surprisingly, it looked like a bitmap t...

Damn, I didn't check the euro-US dollar relativity. I bought Shadowgrounds for 29,9€ (Verkkokauppa.com). That's 35,8 dollars.

The barriers that circle around the boss can be destroyed. Shoot enough of them and you can to attack the baddie.

The game is not that hard, you know :) Unless you're playing with the very hard or impossible settings. In easy and normal, I find it very hard to get killed.

Suomipelit.com reviews Shadowgrounds

Sorry guys, only in Finnish, this review.

So, Suomipelit.com reviewed Shadowgrounds. It is a very thorough insight to the game, I recommend everybody able to read Finnish to take look at it. It takes a while to read, it's quite lengthy.

Shadowgrounds in Suomipelit.com (8/10)
