I don't know the details about the beta tests... Joel should know more about that, so I'll just skip that part. You can still make new missions even without lightwave. What you cannot do without lightwave, is new enemies and characters (new models and animations) and new complex buildings. Note, tha...

The dropped upgrade parts are in fact somewhat randomly generated (depending on enemy type, etc.). However, given the amount of enemies to kill in the game, statistically, in the end, you should get a pretty much known amount of upgrade parts with some slight variation. Of course if you do not kill ...

I doubt that the sound problem would be related to monster sounds only... It's probably something else, so removing the sounds for the monsters alone is unlikely to help... First, are you sure the fps drop is caused by sounds? Have you tried disabling the sounds and running the game that way more th...

The simple answer is: Shadowgrounds is not multithreaded. In more detail, Shadowgrounds itself does not use multithreading to divide the game's CPU tasks... However, for example, sounds and video playing are running in seperate threads (mostly due to sound/video drivers), so in that sense, Shadowgro...

The game should work on GF FX5200. However, you will probably have to use low or very low settings to get sufficient framerates. Not sure about what could be causing the black screen. Too high graphics settings may cause problems. And you may want to disable all videos to make sure it's not some vid...

Concerning the camera modes... I can't promise any new functionality to the camera (in fact, I think it is quite unlikely that the camera would be changed much, other that maybe doing some bug fixes to it if some bugs were found). But, there are actually a few more camera options than those presente...

What you say? That option is better for Radeon 9000SE than for Radeon 9700 Pro just becouse 9kSE is newer? I don't believe it! Ok, maybe I should not have said it the way I did... What I meant to say was, that the distortion effect requires a "quite high-performance" graphics card, not just a "new"...

If the movies in main menu are "laggy", try disabling the sound (uncheck the "sounds enabled" in launcher). If this causes a significant rise in main menu framerate, then the problem may be related to your integrated sound chip drivers. If this is the case, please check if your motherboard manufactu...

As far as I know, this door issue should have been fixed in the 1.01 patch by the script programmer... But I'll look into this next monday. In addition to the actual work time game testing, I have recently played the game through in coop mode with my friend, and haven't had any problems with the doo...

Some answers: 1. Pretty much like Sampo already answered, the rendering engine was originally based on the "Storm3D", which was a DX8 fixed pipeline rendering engine. This engine was was acquired by Frozenbyte several years ago. After that, the rendering engine has had a significant amount of improv...

Ok, lets have a "quick" look into those options you mentioned... In general, the overall options that you would select from the launcher's standard menu (not the advanced menu) should be quite well adjusted for most cases. If you have a CPU and a graphics card that are of "the same caliber", you sho...

Geforce 4 MX series are NOT officially supported and are unlikely to work. The game should work fine with Geforce 4 Ti series though.

The reason for not supporting GF4MX is due to the lack of proper shader support.

Sounds very strange... I don't know what could be causing that, but my best guess would be that it may have something to do with your keybinds (assuming that you have changed the default controls). Maybe it could be some bug that appears only if you have bound some specific keys to some specific gam...

Sounds a bit like a graphics card overheating... Another guess would be that it is somehow related to the windows media video (wmv) codec used to play the videos in the game. Yes, that "slider0" statement is correct (we also confirmed this today). The game engine does not recognize that as a possible axis, so it cannot be used in the game. This issue may be dealt with in future patches. Meanwhile, I suggest that anyone having a thrustmaster joypad uses the trustmapper pr...

There are 2 options when using joypad: a) Pretty much like the choice 1 on your list, but the aiming is not instant, it just quickly rotates to that direction. One reason for this rotation is to make it easier/possible to aim at some random directions even when one has a crappy joypad that is not ab...
