Hrm. I've never heard of multiplayer on 1 PC outside of turn based strategy games. Not so sure I like that.

Wouldn't it be worth the time to add in LAN/online co op before release?

Trine multiplayer features have been created with PS3 in mind. While online co-op would be more than perfect for consoles too, it's been a decision we had to make in order to be able to create otherwise a very good game. Without this sacrifice the whole game would sucked, and if it would, no-one would noticed the online features anyway :D

Here's a good question then.

Will we be able to use Xbox 360 controllers on the PC?

I know it is too early, but are you guys planning some DLC after the game gets released? probably new characters, levels, that kind of stuff would be great since there aren't many classes of characters it would be awesome to add some more with new skills

I rather would have them work on Trine 2 if the first one sells well.

Or like they did with Shadowground.. THere was Shadowground and then Shadowground Survivors with more things, but it was not like a Shadowground 2

Up to this point I had actually not heard of your company. I happened upon a trailer of Trine in Gamespot's E3 awards and instantly recognized it's awesomeness. This is a game I am definitely looking forward to, especially playing some co-op with my friends. But since this is a thread for questions, rather than praise... here's a couple of mine.

I know the game itself hasn't even been released yet, but as the guy a few posts above me asked, can we expect any DLC? The limited amount of classes was one of the few drawbacks for me when I was looking into this game, and some DLC with new classes would definitely make it more enjoyable IMO.

Is it definitive that there will be a XBLA release? If so, do you have any idea of the release date on that one?

I am not a developers, but I thinks that its officialy concerning the XBLA version, it will have one, but after the PS3 and PC releases, PS3 that is ending June, PC that is middle July and XBLA that is like... around September maybe?

DLC would be awesome, but the principe of the game is 3 players co-op, so I don't know if it will have more than 3 classes. One thing is sure that it will have a sort of big update that will ad online and LAN co-op to the game

Any possible DLC require some sales, publisher greenlight and such stuff, so we don't know yet will there be any.

By the way, when talking about three classes, I must mention the game is built on live swapping between three characters where player plays only one at time, but can swap freely between them (unless someone is dead). I'm not sure what you expected, but it's not like Diablo-style one class for whole game, but instead changing to character who fits best for certain challenge. However, player's freedom is important to us, and most of the challenges can be solved with numerous ways and multiple characters.

Speaking of this, maybe the next trailer ( ) will show a bit better what I mean with the player's freedom :D

You'd rather see them do a sequel as opposed to adding online co-op? Or were you just referring to new DLC levels. Personally I think this game is absolutely perfect for online co op. I know it would be played together by just about everyone on my friends list.

I'd prefer to see either one as opposed to nothing so they can focus on a sequel. Who wants to wait a year or two for more content? If the game is as good as we think it's going to be, I don't think anyone would have a problem paying a few extra bucks for DLC online co-op, which could create more revenue down the line with new levels for the online co-op.

My hope is that the game itself costs $14.99 on PSN, then they could charge 4.99 for online co op. Or if it sells well enough do it for free and they could charge 9.99 for the original, but that is probably unrealistic. I'll be shocked if this game isn't quite successful. The independent, smaller downloadable games are getting really popular. And now that it's coming to XBL, obviously both Microsoft and Sony think it's going to do well.

If it is 14.99, or 19.99, which I think would be too much and probably hurt sales, they really need to get the message out that it's a full game. I think I read 8-10 hours, so it's fair to charge more, but people need to know it isn't some tiny 3 hour game.

While price is set by our publisher and Sony, I can say in my opinion Trine is closer to full game than a normal downloadable title. The game takes about 7-9 hours to complete at first play, and there is a lot of extra stuff and huge replay value in both single player and co-op modes. Trine's all secret items are unlockable, which means you can return to previous levels to search the missing secret item and then continue from where you are with the item. Also for PSN, there are loads of trophies and our trophy budget is "big game" budget, allowing hours and hours of extra play. The new trailer will hopefully show what I mean with the replay value :D

But of course, it's just my opinion 8)

$14.99? Sounds really low to me. Thats the same price as Flock and Wheel of fortune on the psn, not exactly a comparable catagory in my opinion. Even twenty dollars sounds a slightly low since it's about the closest thing you can get to a full title as an original downloadable game. I was thinking closer to $20-$25 for the game, and that seems reasonable to me since games ussually start out at $60, and thats still less half the price. I'm gonna buy it no matter the cost, but I'm still waiting on that dang new trailer  lol

Yes but, maybe they don't have the exact price, it can change, and normally games never costs more than console games, that would be strange that the PSN version is 14.99 and 24.99 for PC

Yeah 20 bucks sounds about right even though it's worth more. I just remember that there was some negative reaction to the Watchmen game that came out at $20. People often assume that if a game doesn't get release on PSN as well in stores that it's not a full game.

Sounds like it should cost around $30, but I doubt that will happen. I was watching the gamespot video about best downloadable game at E3, and they guy went on about how surprised he was that this was only 20 bucks.

I think Nobilis knows a few market rules. ;)

I bought Defense Grid when it was around 22€. Now the price has only gone down to 18,99€ and taking into account that it is the very first commercial tower defence game and looking at it's quality that price is luring people to pirate less and buy the game more just to support the developers so they will produce more as high quality games at such low price.

I think that's the same thing with Trine. It's very high end quality with very low end cost lures a lot of people to buy it just because it is so cheap and just because it looks so good so they feel like supporting the developers with some money and that amount of money won't be too much for them. That way the cost won't be the block over which people can't get and will rather pirate the game than buy it.

By setting the price as low as that it should, in theory naturally, reduce the pirating amount to some degree because people can't claim that the price is too high and they don't feel like paying that much for such small amount of playing.

Trine feels like almost half free now. Normally all PC games are around 50€ when they are brand new. On consoles the price is normally 60€. Now when trine is somewhere between 20€-35€ it's feels like half free when compared to other games.

I think Nobilis is after this when they set the price tag as low as that.

But whatever, I will buy this game even with a price of 40€. But if it goes up to 50€ I for sure will demand a demo before I will buy it just to be sure that I put my money in a game which I will enjoy enough much to be worth 50€.

I am ordering PSN card so let me know ASAP if Trine below 20$ so that i can order this

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zu- ... -368i.html

Or else i have to order 62$ card needlessly

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zu- ... -368h.html

My friend is ordering DW6 with shipping UPS cost which makes it 2 days , freeshipping never arrives to my country so i need quick reply.
If this fails then i would have to pay 25$ extra for shipping.
