Their revised news is a lot better, but one sentence caught my attention:
The Xbox Live Arcade release is said to sport online cooperative play, [...]

Is that true?

There seems (and is) a number of sites, publishers, channel owners, retailers, journalists and specially players who certainly know a lot more about any Trine-related subjects than I do.

well this is disappointing :( . consider a sale lost for the pc or psn version because the price is unreasonably high. blame sony at the same time as well because to buy a 20 dollar psn title you would need to buy TWO psn cards because of the tax. its a shame, i enjoyed the demo on the pc.

i hope the game gets a sale or price drop asap.

9.99-14.99 at most.

inb4 people posting about how this is a 7-10 hour game with a possible sdk and online coop. spare me the details. its a downloadable title and should be priced as such.

Have you actually SEEN this game? Gamespot's preview said they felt it could be packaged and sold at full price, and they were surprised it was going to be made available for only $20. I'm not sure what you think $20 is worth, but from what I have seen it is certainly worth it for this game.

I'm fine with the price, just not the idea that one version may have online co op.

Other versions will most likely get patched up to date later.

I'm sorry to say this, but this is a ridiculous argument. Why do you think it has to be that cheap, no matter what it actually offers? What if, say, Fallout 3 or GTA 4 were made available as downloadable titles through PSN? Would you seriously argue that they would have to cost $10-15 at max only because of that?

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'd happily pay $20 for Trine, and I may split the cost of the PC version with a friend ($30) who I'll co-op with, but I'll be quite annoyed if I find that the Steam PC version costs $10 more than the PSN version.

You mean confirm the PSN price? Well, it comes from Nobilis apparently, who is the publisher for the game on PSN. So in that sense it's probably quite correct.

Thanks, that's what I get for not reading the article. I'm going to go grumble in a corner now, even though I'm aware there's the retailer-box-release issue which is probably forcing the higher price and it's entirely outside of Frozenbyte's control.

I smell an email to the publisher begging for information coming on... :D
