PhysX Card Support?

PhysX Card Support?

Does this game support the old Ageia PhysX hardware much like Shadowgrounds Survivor did?

Or are the physics in this game exclusively calculated by Geforce PhysX or regular CPU (software) PhysX?

Or can one configure the game settings to choose which PhysX architecture to play the game from, whether it be off the Ageia PhysX card, a Geforce GPU with PhysX support or plain old Software (CPU) PhysX?

System Specs:
Windows Vista Ultimate
AMD 3.2 GHz Dual-Core
Geforce 9800 GT Graphics Card
Ageia PhysX Card
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Sound Card

In theory the support for hardware physics is still in the engine. However, it hasn't been tested for a long time and it's likely that it won't work properly any more (no one in here has those extra cards in their dev computers anymore).

If you are feeling experimental you can enable hardware support from config/options.txt. Find option "physics_use_hardware = 0" and change that to 1. Save the file and make it read-only. When starting up the game it should now use hardware physics. If it works or not I have no idea :wink:.

That said, even if it works PhysX card won't really give any benefit for running Trine. Even low-end CPU should run the physics without any problems, and possibly giving more realistic physics responses as well.
