How do I transfer my XP save data to my new windows 7 PC

Postby trineisawesome » Sun Jul 18, 2010 3:02 pm

Hello,

I am immensely enjoying Trine at the moment but soon i will be moving to a new PC with windows 7. Could someone please instruct me how I can move my saved data successfully so I everything will be the same, I don't want to corrupt the install.

Cheers

I'm guessing you are good if you just copy binds, config and profiles folders to your new computer. I don't think Trine has done any save games to your My Documents, program files or other folders.
Not all of you have äää's and ööö's :P

if you have it through Steam, you can just reinstall it to your new computer and your saves will automatically be transfered because this game has Steam Cloud

Yeah, what they said. :)

Basically Trine uses these folders for user-configs:

\binds (for controller keys etc)
\config (graphics options etc)
\profiles (savegames)

So if you copy them, you should be good. Steam uses Steam Cloud so it should work on any computer, but of course I'd still advise to take a backup just in case.
