Logitech Rumblepad 2 configuration file

Postby fb_joel » Wed Dec 16, 2009 3:14 pm

I thought I'd post the Logitech Rumblepad 2 config file here so it's easy to find in case someone needs it (there's multiple threads here but the topics are named in various ways).

Anyhow, to apply this configuration, you need to edit the keybinds.txt file in binds\joystick\1\ folder. Simply copypaste this over the original:

// Extra padding for loading

joystick_x_axis = axis_throttle
joystick_y_axis = axis_rudder
controller_type = 105
camera_move_forward = joy-up
camera_move_backward = joy-down
camera_move_left = joy-left
camera_move_right = joy-right
change_next_weapon = joy-but-6
quit = joy-but-3
screenshot = f11
console_toggle = f8
change_prev_weapon = joy-but-5
execute = joy-but-4
run_script_20 = joy-pov-right
run_script_21 = joy-pov-left
wizard_break_object = joy-but-4
wizard_draw_levitate_1 = joy-but-7,joy-but-8
wizard_draw_levitate_2 = joy-but-8,joy-but-7
thief_attack_current_weapon = joy-throttle-any,joy-rudder-any
thief_use_rope = joy-but-8
thief_ninja_time = joy-but-2
warrior_attack_current_weapon = joy-but-1
warrior_charge = joy-but-3
warrior_shield_throw = joy-throttle-any,joy-rudder-any
warrior_object_pickup = joy-but-4
open_upgrade = joy-but-10
jump = joy-but-2
open_pause_menu = joy-but-9
menu_select = joy-but-2
menu_special_1 = joy-but-1
menu_special_2 = joy-but-4

After this the Rumblepad 2 should work quite well, and you can further config it in the Customize controls menu in Options. This should work for the corded and cordless version of the gamepad.

Where do I add this at? What directory is this in?

The directory is e.g. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\trine\binds\joystick\1\

Simply copypaste the config to that file and save the file. It should work then. (I deleted your earlier thread btw.)

I tried this profile but with the Theif and Wizard the character moves when you fire a arrow of cast a spell is there away to make the stand still when you do these actions.

Yeah I think this could be fixed easily - can you go to the Options -> Customize Controllers menu, and then go to the last Page, which is called Axes. Here's a screenshot:

In this screen, click on the Axes and move the right thumbstick. Then, go back to the first Page, and check that the Up/Down etc controls are set to the left thumbstick.

The full help file is at http://trine-thegame.com/help/trinegamepads.php

Let me know if this helps.

that didn't work at all. The arrows now shoot up or down on the right and and front and back on the left

Is it possible to calibrate the gamepad? If it is, go to start, settings (or something like that), control panel, gamecontrollers (or something like that), from the list select the gamepad, click properties and I think somewhere there could be a button called calibrate.

But I have never owned a gamepad so I don't know is it possible to calibrate it. At least with joysticks you can do this.

Yeah it should be possible to at least test gamepads - that's definitely something that should be done.

trt740, a question that I forgot to ask earlier... Are you using the Logitech Rumblepad 2 gamepad? If not, then the config file above won't work and we need to configure it for you in a different way...
