Please include support for nVidia 3D Vision!

Postby vaelo » Tue Jul 13, 2010 8:02 pm

Greetings,

I absolutely LOVE trine, and I am happy to be enjoying the 1.08 Beta patch that added support for 3D Vision.

Trine has some of the best visuals of all time IMO, and playing through in 3D is nothing short of absolutely breathtaking! So many times I simply stopped to "smell the roses" and gawk and the rich, lush, vibrant world in Trine and those sentiments are amplified by an order of magnitude when playing with 3D vision in the latest patch.

Pretty please - do make sure the initial release of Trine 2 has the same support for 3D rendering as the 1.08 Trine 1 patch employs.

Thanks for making such an awesome game... I only wish I didn't know about the second one already, it's going to be a painful wait :P

Cheers
Jeff

Thanks Jeff, glad to hear. :) We're hoping we can support 3D Vision in Trine 2, so we'll see how things go. I can't make a 100% promise though, these things are sometimes a little complicated. But here's hoping for the best!

You need a 120MHz monitor, a compatible NVIDIA graphics card (Anything that can play Trine should work) and the NVIDIA 3D vision kit.

Hm not bad since I'm planning to buy a new monitor soon anyway. I will just get the 3D Kit along with it. The price for the kit isnt too bad. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to play Trine in 3D soon :).

Make sure that new screen is 120MHz, it won't work otherwise. And the 3D kit is $300.

On the NVIDIA US site it's 300, which is no surprise :P

120 MHz and 120 Hz are two quite different things. ;)
Not all of you have äää's and ööö's :P

YES, please support nVidia 3D Vision! I just downloaded the 1.08 patch just to play Trine 1.0 again!!!

Would love Trine 2 to support nVidia 3D Vision out of the box.

Yes Trine 2 looks awaesome with 3d vision !

Best platform game along with the Vikings and Oddworld
Great job Frozenbite...!

I too hope Trine 2 will be 3dvision ready...
Posted some screenshots on the Nvidia 3dforum for everyone to see.

Btw for the ones interested in 3d (be warned you will want to go back to 2d when you've seen this game and many others in 3d !),there is some info on the Nvidia forum on what kind of hardware you need.

Playing games in 3d it's just another ball game ,it's another dimension...

I can't play games in 3d. The glasses give me a headache. I couldn't go see Avatar for that reason. I recall trying the Nvidia 3d glasses once in a store and after one minute my head was killing me. Here's hoping real 3d tvs (that don't require glasses) come out in my lifetime.

Trine + 3DVision = Absolutely stunning!
This would be one of my main reasons for buying the sequel.

For the ones ho got headache when watching things with 3d vision:
1.Try to reduce depth and adjust convergence.
2.Turn of all light sources to avoid flicker.
3.Use the biggest Screen possible (beamer)

Found a way to save money on GPUs myself : I was born sort of one-eyed (the right eye was there, the nerve was there, but the brain refused to hear anything from it), and by the time doctors got my second eye to work, my stubborn brain had already found some alternatives to binocular vision for relief perception.

So for me, 3D movies/games are exactly as three-dimensional as 2D ones. It's proper use of light, shadow, and blur which gives best a feeling of depth
