Graphics and hardware requirements

Hi everyone ! It's been a while...

I was wondering about something : I think I remember reading here that the engine has been much optimized since Trine 1, allowing for significantly better performance on similar hardware. Is it true, or did I dream it ?

Yes, in fact the engine is completely re-written for Trine 2 :)

So the looks, physics, etc. are now a lot better with close to similar hardware requirements as Trine 1 had.

Hopefully it's also less taxing? Trine 1 made my GPU heat up more than Bad Company 2! :(

Can't promise that 100%, but we'll be looking into some options that would help in some cases (limiters etc) - possibly a post-launch patch though, might not have time for that earlier.
