PSN release?

Postby C-Sword » Tue Nov 29, 2011 5:53 am

When will this game be released on the Playstation Store? I had a blast playing the first game with my friends.

If I'm not mistaken, the game will be released on all platforms at the same time. The exact release date hasn't been announced yet so it'll be sometime next month :)

I thought the game was coming out December 9th on PC/Mac.

Trine 2 is coming to XBLA, PSN, PC, Mac and Linux.

The releases are "closeish" to each other, but it's likely that there's a few weeks between them. For PSN, US/EU might also be on separate weeks.

However, everyone can rest assured that the game will be available in much shorter timeframe than what Trine 1 was :)

A release is between 6th and 9th. But not all.

I'm sorry for being so mis-informative, but the situation is really unknown for us also.

Basically the thing is that we don't know for sure. It's like Trine 1 all over again ... :(

Edit: Trine 1 was a super-fiasco with July - October releases, Trine 2 will be at worst case 2-3 week window (fingers crossed!). With Trine 3 I'm sure we can do a 3-day release window. 8)

Well, we DO own http://trinelogy.com/ .. 8)

But seriously, I think Trine 3 isn't our next big game. It's refreshing to do something completely new, and we are also very happy with Trine 2, so I think we have much more to give in some other genres. :D

But don't worry, Trine will always be the franchise which boosted us to the sky, and we will never forget it completely. :)

How does the PSN version fare vs the PC version? I ask because a lot of times, the AA is turned off in multiplayer titles and other reductions. I know it probably wont reach Maximum settings for PC, but if it's close enough that it'd be hard to tell a difference, then I could wait a couple more weeks. Would really prefer playing on console.

Graphics settings are the same in both multi and single player, and we use anti-aliasing (FXAA) on both consoles. As with most other console games it is 720p and locked to 30fps, but other than that it's pretty much equivalent to medium-ish PC quality settings.

We are happy with what we managed to do with the console versions, so it's really about what platform you prefer playing it on :) .

Great, PSN it is! I actually looked up comparisons between the different graphical settings and for the most part, they're all nearly identical except for Shader Quality on Very Low. Even on the lowest setting though it still looks pretty good.

So i take it, its doubtful we will see Trine 2 on EU PSN this side of Christmas? Things have gone awfully quiet :(

We only get the information once the build gets approved. Given that we have no idea by now it really seems that PSN EU won't be out on 20th.

The game itself is fine so there's no technical problems whatsoever preventing the launch. It is frustrating for us as well. :?

Getting this game tomorrow for sure! Playstation usually update their store late in the afternoon or early in the evening. How is the netcode when playing co-op online on the PS3? Will there be any lags?

No, sadly we don't support stereo on consoles. It's also unlikely that it would be patched in later.
