Trine 2 from appstore bugs. (solved)

Dear frozenbyte,
I've purchased Trine 2 from the appstore but I am only having trouble with it so far. 80% of the time when I launch the game it crashes right after the first loading screen and when it finally loads without crashing I start walking and then randomly the input stops working. I keep running, can't change direction and can't access the menu. I have to close it down with alt cmd esc.

Am I the only one having these problems?

We're really sorry for the errors you're encountering, but unfortunately this was error on Apple's part.
The version they've released is actually development version of the game =/

The proper version is coming out next week, and it has ton of fixes.

Again really sorry for this, this version were never supposed to go out.

That's bad news, but we're only human. Mistakes can always happen.

One question, though - what happens if you've already purchased Trine 2 from the App Store? Will you have to buy it again when the new version comes out (since it also doesn't show up anymore on the "Purchased" page) and how will people who have already purchased the game get hold of the new version? Completely new (free) download? Update?

I'm not 100% sure how Apple handles the purchases, but for certain you wont have to pay twice.
My best bet would be that either you'll have it automatically on launch or you get a refund.

Lauri probably knows this better, but I'm not at the office anymore to ask.

Thanks for the reply - it'll sort itself out next week anyway. Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful and fantastic game. Absolutely adored Trine and adore Trine 2 even more. I thought nothing would drag me away from Skyrim, but it seems Skyrim has found its master.... ;)

App Store updates are always free, so it should update itself....

I have a question: i don't see Trine 2 in Mac App Store, i hope to see it pop up in italian store soon, i would prefer to buy it on App Store and not on Steam if i can.

i too bought Trine 2. did'nt download fully. now inspite of an iTunes receipt for the game it doesn't show in my purchased items list and i cant find it in Itunes again. its like the game has vanished from the itunes store. very disappointed, waited a long time for it.

i live in india, when is it likely to be rereleased here

Hello ikir and rustom.

The reason why there is no Trine 2 in appstore at the moment is because it shouldnt have been there in the first place. The version that Apple released was not finished and not supposed to be released to the public.

Also JussiE already explained this in this very thread so the answer was just above you :)

There's now the correct version out. There's also at least one update coming, so if you experience any issues those should be sorted out shortly.

On the Mac App Store at the moment there's version 1.06.
I've read in the Steam Forums that PC version is 1.09 now.

I hope to get version 1.09 or better, a newer version, also on Mac App Store. (I'll wait for, at least, one newer version than 1.06).

By the way, reading the release notes, the "F11" key on Mac shows the desktop, I don't know if it can be used to hide the GUI in the game on Macs... I'm also sorry that there are some graphical bugs to be fixed yet. :wink:

All patches will end up to Mac App Store also, the review process there just takes a bit more time. :)

And thanks for the F11 tip, we'll need to check that out.
