If you buy Trine 2 on Steam, do you get DRM free later

Postby veggen » Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:51 pm

I want to play Trine 2 as soon as possible but do not want to lock myself into DRM. So I am wondering if I buy it on Steam now, will I be able to get the DRM free stand alone version automatically when it becomes available or will I have to buy it again. It won't change my mind on buying it, but I'd just like to know.

Thanks.

@FB_Lauri
Thanks for the info. I've just bought Trine 2 and the download is in progress. Can't wait to play :)
Also, looking forward to the Linux version (I only keep my old WinXP so I can play Trine 2 ;) )!

sorry to ask such a simple question... :-) But, do I need Linux to run a DRM-free version? And does the DRM-free version support online/offline multiple player co-op (presumably without Steam)?

Thanks.

Linux will be the first DRM-free option, but DRM-free Mac and Windows versions will also follow at some point during the spring :)

I'm interested in the Collection's Edition. What's in the digital art book and soundtrack? Is the sound track the same as the special edition on Ari's website?

I have the original Trine OST and absolutely love it. :D

Yes, the DRM-free version will be added to our store once it's to be released and it will be available to all who have purchased from there.

Oh yeah! I took the plunge and bought from Humble Store with faith that I'll get a DRM-version later. :D

Now, a couple of questions:

- I got a Steam key to activate the game. Cool
- I bought the Collector's Edition. Where do I download the digital artbook and sound track?

Hello xitrum

The artbook and soundtrack can be found from the games directory Steam\steamapps\common\trine 2

Hello

I've already bought the game in the Steam-shop some weeks ago. Is there a chance to get the Linux-version without re-buying the game in the frozenbyte shop again?

Thanks and kind regards,
exr

That's wonderful. I came here from Gog.com forums, which I think clearly implies that I'm very interested in the DRM-free version. :) If you're indeed going to provide it to all those who buy directly from your store, I'll happily stomach Steam DRM for now and buy the Collector's Edition in a second via trine2.com.

Thank you for listening to your fans and your willingness to eventually make the game DRM-free.
