Trine 2 - Crash at launch (steam)

Postby Kongkopa » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:05 pm

Hello.

The game crash (and burn) after the launcher. So, I can't play the game at all.

The error:
Unhandled exception
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Address: 0x760d0a54
Minidump:
....\steam\steamapps\common\trin2\log\trin2_32bit.exe.dmp

It seems the game is trying to access/write to places in memory where it is not allowed!?

Dxdiag:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Page file: 2292MB used, 9975 available
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series(6970)

DirectX Features:
DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct3D Acceleration: Enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled

Got the newest diplay drivers.
Got every Windows update.
Downloaded and installed newest .net framework
I have tried starting the game from its .exe file and from its launcher file as normal and as forced administrator.

On steam's games list. Right click on Trine 2 and click properties. Then from one of the tabs (can't remember which one it is) you get a button which says "Verify the integrity of game cache" or something like that.

Click that and wait until it finishes. You may not have a full download for some reason.
Not all of you have äää's and ööö's :P

Thanks for the answer, and I tried this, but with no success. All files were successfully validated, but I still get the same error msg.

Hi again.

I have now e-mailed dmp files to frozenbyte. Hopefully the coders will be able to solve this problem.
