Want to support Shadowgrounds?

WANT TO SUPPORT SHADOWGROUNDS?

I'd like to raise Shadowgrounds's public awareness a little bit. This is where you come in.

I know a lot of you have already supported Shadowgrounds on the net (thanks Qraft, Zeus, Hedgehog, and everyone else who has posted reviews/news comments etc) but I'd like to see a bit more of it.

So if you like Shadowgrounds, please take a few minutes to vote or write a review at places like Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, GameSpot, GameRankings, Metacritic, GamesTracker, Eurogamer, GameFAQs...

Honest opinions is what I'd like to see - the game should be good enough so I think there's no need to lie or exaggarate or anything like that. If you feel the game is worth 3/5, that's perfectly fine for example.

Feel free to "spread the word" in other ways too. However, posting on other gaming forums isn't a good idea unless you're already a regular user at that forum.

WHY DO IT / WHAT'S THE REWARD?

Raising the public awareness of Shadowgrounds means good things:

1) It improves the chances of good mods, simply by making more people aware of the game, which always gives modders a nice morale boost and may even attract new modders. Most modders want their mod to be played by as many people as possible. Not having multiplayer in Shadowgrounds obviously limits the initial appeal a bit, but overall there is huge potential for cool singleplayer mods, and I'd hate to see that potential go to waste due to modders losing interest.

2) Sales of the game will most likely increase in the long run, which helps produce our next game(s) and gives us more stability as a company when we negotiate with publishers. What this means is that we can create original, fun games. I like to think that we are on the "good" side of the games industry so this should be welcomed by everyone.

3) And of course, if Shadowgrounds does become more successful, the chances of Shadowgrounds 2 or an add-on increase... :)

We will be doing our share of promotion, and we have something pretty cool to be announced for Shadowgrounds in the coming months (no, not multiplayer). We also plan to finally announce a mod contest and perhaps a general contest. And of course we'll be releasing patches from time to time (1.05 is just around the corner, although it's mainly a crash bug fix for a couple of gamers).

So, are you up for the challenge? :)

I will be keeping an eye on the votes/reviews from time to time, so you don't need to reply here if you'd rather remain anonymous.

I will write a review and/or rate the game on those sites. I hope it atracts some skilled people that will start a mod or help wih excisting mods. Also I would love to see more games from frozenbyte, since I really enjoyed Shadowgrounds.

Of course I will keep it fair :) We don't want angry new players, we need enthousiastic new players to enlarge the community :D.

I've just added a mini-review to Amazon.co.uk. Full of praise, naturally :)

The game's rating is really high, shame the sales ranking isn't quite as good :?

Hopefully that'll change though, good luck!

I'm afraid it's the same with games as with music. 99% of the people listen to Britney Spears and only 1% are blessed with real good music :P

I hope you understand what I mean, because I wrote a long story and deleted it again, because I find it hard to express myself in english.

I put a review on Gamespot about five months ago.
If you've read it a do apologise for it as it was my first attempt at reviewing something.

I'll review it on a few other sites for you as well.

Awesome. :) I think we're going to gain some momentum once we can finally announce the OST, and some other even more interesting things in the coming months. They'll probably get some more modders interested again, too. :)

Zeus, I happened to notice it yesterday by accident, cool. :)

Very cool screenshots there, Crawdaddy. Quite a powerhouse you seem to have, too. ;)

I recently bought Shadow Grounds PC (Windows) for AU$10 at
Harvey Norman in Brisbane, Australia .

The game is good but after 24 hrs Ive already un-installed it
due to lack of manual save game & lack of LAN Multi player coop.

I will reinstall it down the track when I setup a lounge room pc
for multiple people can play this game on the same PC instead
of using a console.

I am sure a few people that enjoy the LAN/ONLINE Multiplayer
free game's Abuse and Babo Violent 2 would like this game
but personally LAN Multiplayer DM/CF/COOP is my perfernce
over Single player solo games and Same PC gaming (Split screen)

If it had Multiple Keyboard/Mouse support , LAN coop
LAN DM and sp manual save game function it would get
9 of out 10 .

In its current state 6 out of 10.

Never the less I will be telling people about this game.

The current trend of games NOT allowing manual saving
by the user at a time the player wants and LAN Coop
missing is getting a real let down of the games released after 2002

Just finished the game and I'd like to say that the experience was just brilliant. I'd personally like to thank the Frozenbyte team for such a great job. I really look forward for future games and extensions from you (I'll most probably buy Trine shortly). I just coudn't help notice how you took good old Alien Breed (Team 17) and just sublimed every aspect... great fun.
I've posted a 'remark' on Priceminister (in french) and won't any miss chache of talking about SG.

PS : Amiga rulz (well at least in our hearts)
