Trine 2 Linux too dark, problem with mesa 9.1?

Postby ephase » Mon Mar 04, 2013 8:42 pm

Hi,

Trine 2 is really dark, some level are mostly unlplayable and i can't adjust brightness (in game and manually in config.txt). My config :

Macbook 13' 2012
Core I 5, Intel HD 4000
16GB RAM3
kernel 3.7.9
Intel Xorg driver 2.21.3-1
Mesa 9.1

I've found posts on Steam forums whitch talk about a similar problem for MacOS (resolved), but nothing on Linux.

Hi all,

Here comes ingame screenchots :

Intro

Pumpkins aren't orange, no light effects and first plan is really dark

The Story begins

First plan all green, without light effect but second plan seems to be ok?

cave level

Here i can't see nothing, this level is unplayable...

I made a update from mesa 9.0 to 9.1, and i suspect this to be behind my problem, but downgrade my system seems to be complicated

I have the same problems running Trine and Trine2 with Intel HD4600 using MESA 9.1.
Is there a workaround? Is this problem fixed with MESA 9.2?

This might have something to do with the recent bug that was found with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 and 5000 series. You could try to disable anti-aliasing and try different graphics detail levels as that might help.

If that doesn't help, you could try different drivers. There has been problems with the xorg drivers. You could try to install Intel's open source drivers (to my knowledge Intel doesn't have proprietary drivers for linux distros) from: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads

Let me know how it goes!
