Trine 2 Xbox 360 controller, Thief can't unhook

I can use the grappling hook (R2) with Zoya the Thief, and I can swing. But when I need to let go to jump, I cannot. I've tried every button, but unless I've missed something, I can't unhook. The only way I can let go is if I change character in mid-air (right or left bumper). But this won't help me reach a high up ledge.

Other than this issue, everything else works great on the gamepad.

It's too bad because I bought the Xbox 360 wired controller specifically to play this game.

System information:
Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit
Unity desktop environment
nVidia GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR5
nVidia 310.14 experimental drivers

You're right -- it works!

I don't know why I didn't try the right analog before. Or maybe it escaped me at the time. I think I was expecting it to be 'jump' that unhooked.

Anyway, thank you ephase, and sorry for raising a fuss over nothing.

There's a bug in default bindings (missing ropeJump binding). You can try going to Settings => Configure Controls menu and binding jump button to rope jump. Unfortunately, there's also a bug in that menu, so this doesn't necessarily work. Hopefully we'll get this patched in near future.

Using analog pad (as if starting to shoot an arrow) works, as was pointed out by other poster.

Goblin menace special skill bindings (magnetism for Knight and Wizard, low gravity arrow for thief) are also missing.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Please give support to Xbox 360 Wireless controller for PC.

the Xbox 360 Wireless only works using "xboxdrv", please give support, Please give support to the native form, without using xboxdrv, Like "Bastion"

Support (or, actually, bug fixes that enable the support) is coming in next patch. Unfortunately, I don't have exact date. It's a larger patch, not just for the controller problems.

Will buy Trine 2 and also a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless controller to use with my PC if everything will work. Can anybody confirm if the Wireless controller is fully compatible with the game?

Sorry for the slight delay.

Yes, if you buy the Xbox 360 controller for PC it should work with Trine 2. Note that there are also ones available for the console that can't be directly connected to your computer.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this. Cheers!
