Linux: ubuntu 10.04 and xp - vga crash

Postby aka399 » Sat Apr 16, 2011 3:43 pm

i got the 2 version of trine but the same problem. after few minutes the vga goes black (pc is always on) and I have to reset.
here my config

CPU AMD 4850e
2x2 GB ram

I try with low resolution (800*600) and details on xp and it works but under linux the launcher doesn't applies the presets and start the game at 1920*1080 with hi details.
It seems like an overhating issue, could you help me? already tried this:
- open the game console with the F8 key
- write "/show_fps 1" (without the quotes) to get the framerate counter to top left corner
- write "/render_max_fps 30" (to limit the framerate to 30)

First I think we need to make sure the options are saved. So try to set the settings manually into the config/options.txt file. Then launch Trine directly without using the launcher. Or if you need to use the launcher, you could make options.txt unwritable (not quite sure how exactly but I'm sure there's a chmod that works).
