2.7D pov

Postby Kein » Tue Mar 03, 2015 12:12 pm

As you probably have seen from the trailer, it would appear that this time FB decided to deviate from "classic" plain 2.5D pov and introduce more depth for the level/environment design. Which, I must admit, looks really awesome.

I'm curious, would be these transitions mostly scripted or part of the actual gameplay?

Yeah it seems more 3dísh, i though that was called 2.5D but oh well :D

it seems to be its mostly the same engine (same looks) the game always was 3d anyway, you just play throug it in 2d

That was a joke and wordplay. You don't see often 2.5D games featuring such depth.

Trine games are one of my favorite games of all time for me, I'm not going anywhere :p

I just hope they have not switched to 3D completely. A 3D platformer would be a massive deviation from the existing Trine franchise.

I agree, but from what I've seen in trailer is far it does not looks like they want to deviate too much from original formula.

Yes, I don't want it either. I don't want it to be completely 3D in gameplay. Some particular levels / sections ok, but not the entire game. Any word on that from Frozenbyte? :)

I like what I saw with the third-person 3D view. I've always thought that it would be awesome to explore Trine world in 3D.

New gameplay footage from IGN:

It looks very very beautiful but I don't like the new camera/control system. :/
I prefer the old fixed 2d camera/gameplay. :(
