Chapter 5: Sewers duplicate render of game.

I did a search for my problem first, and only came up with one other person who is experiencing the same thing, so here it goes:

When I load chapter 5 "Sewers", the game renders everything twice, and the duplicate is offset below and right. There are additional graphic errors with that, but they are all related. Otherwise, both the original SG and the first 4 chapters of SG:S play flawlessly.

I am playing the game with all settings on Very High, or as high as they can go. The resolution is set to 1900x1200, which is my monitor's native resloution (24" widescreen).

Here are my specs:

While not the true solution, the simple fix is (should be) to turn off reflection. Either untick it in the Launcher, or open the console with the F8 key and write:

/render_reflection 0

and press enter. Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your quick reply!

I tried /render_reflection 0 in the console, and it didn't appear to have any effect on the game at all.
I don't see a tick box for it in the setup.

I did, however figure out what is causing the problem, as well as the 'fix'.

/render_distortion 0 (or "Distortion Effects" box in setup).

Changing to a 0 setting fixes the duplication, and changing to a 1 settings causes the duplication.

I have had distortion on while playing through episodes 1-4, I wonder why episode 5 doesn't like the effect?

I can fraps the gameplay if you would like so that FB might be able to fix the problem, since I am able to recreate it easily and dynamically. Let me know!
I would be happy to help make a great game even better. You guys and gals at FrozenByte really have your act together... I pre-ordered Trine and I can't wait!

So sorry for the long delay, I got too busy with other things (Trine) and could not visit the boards for a long time...

I think there was a similar thread in the Steam forums and with the same end result, me providing wrong info and the users finding it out on their own, heh. :)

I believe the problem is related to the water effects - the fifth mission has water planes in abundance, hence why it shows so much. I think it should show in all water elements though (in some later missions too) but it's harder to notice. Anyhow, I'm not sure what the root cause of the problem is, but at this point it's unlikely that we would fix it unfortunately. Luckily the above solution works well enough so it shouldn't be a huge problem.
