A mouse issue, maybe?

Postby LordFu » Tue May 16, 2006 9:12 pm

I have an issues happening with Shadowgrounds.

My Setup:

Albatron 865 Pro mainboard
P4c 2.8 w/HT
1g Corsair XMS DDR400
AC '97 onboard sound

Mouse - Logitech MX 518

My issue with the mouse is that as I'm moving around, occasionally my character will turn around to some random direction for no apparent reason. The whole screen "jerks" when this happens. Any advice?

It's a known bug with no fix yet...

Ah, ok. I hope you guys can track it down. Let me know if there's any information I could provide that may be of use to you.

Edit: I switched to "free cam", and things are better. It seems to only happen with the fixed camera. :D

Ya i noticed the same thing. So i figured ill just make a workaround until it gets fixed.

Then i got hooked on the workaround LOL.

I use a modded free camera. The biggest problem with free cam is the inablity to control the camera angles in a smooth and effective way.

This Config bridges that gap. You can aim up and down too.

Now if you take this config, and study hard. Long and hard. Maybe a few years.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!
camera_rotation_auto_strength = 0.7
camera_rotation_fade_end = 769
camera_rotation_fade_start = 769
camera_rotation_safe = 80
camera_rotation_spring = 5
camera_rotation_strength = 2.5

ROFL Just kiddiing (maybe :twisted: )

It is a good config tho. Its what im currently using. Give it a try and tweak to your liking!

P.S That post with "WTH" in it has a good Walkthrough and a sample config for free camera.
Neo: What are you trying to tell me - that I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to...
