Multiple cores?!?

Postby ZEUS_GB » Sat Sep 22, 2007 3:11 pm

Will the new game support multiple cores?

Would be great if it could use my QX8650 extreme (3.0GHz Quad Core) cpu to it's full potential.

This is pure speculation, but I highly doubt the game would take advantage of a quad core system. Shadowgrounds Survivor is based upon a modified version of the Shadowgrounds engine, and before I upgraded my system to duel core I ran Shadowgrounds quite nicely on my old Athlon single core 3500+. I might very well be wrong, but for now, I'd think the game would benefit from a duel core system at most.

P.S. Is it "duel" core or "Dual" core?

I kinda had a feeling that it wouldn't but it was worth asking.

It's dual core. A duel is a fight between two people.

Actually the game will run a lot better on a dual-core than a single-core because of the physics. Even an AGEIA PhysX PPU hardware card helps (especially if singlecore).

Not sure if a quad core helps all that much more but anyway, at least it's going to be good enough to run the game. ;)

Hehe, theres nothing out there right now which is in dire need of a Quad core. Dont worry, you'll play fine
