When you can proudly and boldly say that your in-game non-pre/post-rendered live PICTURES of real gameplay during a level look way more wicked, better and put those post-rendered, enhanced, tampered and edited way beyond over priced AAA industry gameplay TRAILER VIDEOS TO SHAME! AND ABOVE ALL THAT YOU CAN SAY YOU ARE SELLING YOUR GAME AROUND 4,5 TIMES CHEAPER THAN THOSE AAA INDUSTRY GAMES! THAT'S A FRACTION OF THE AAA TITLE GAME PRICES! So called AAA title games.
PICTURES! LOOK AT THEM!

How you know your game is beyond superb quality?
Not all of you have äää's and ööö's

Re: How you know your game is beyond superb quality?
Absolutely amazing. For me Trine is an AAA game

Re: How you know your game is beyond superb quality?
Yes, definitely. Frozenbyte are artists, their games are simply beautiful... (if only their code was, too)
I'm talking about the background code that doesn't affect proper gameplay most of the time. Examples: Shadowgrounds - everything co-op. Trine - co-op, menu navigation for player 2/3. Etc.

+another for a gorgeous game!

Re: How you know your game is beyond superb quality?
I hoped to see a little graphical improvement. It would be enough since Trine 1 still is a beautiful game.
But this beta just made me look something like this:
Congrats guys. You are now officially my new "Futuremark"
. Back in the days, in 1999-2005 they showed what a good PC can do with their 3DMarks. Now Trine 2 has the "most awesome looking graphics ever showed by a PC, in real-time".
And it doesn't require top-end hardware, not to mention being a game rather than just a benchmark.
It almost holds up to constant 60 frames per second on my outdated PC
: C2D @ 4GHz + GTX 260 (a little overclocked) and Win7 - at everything maxed out at 1920x1200, AFx16, v-sync ON. Just antialiasing turned OFF.
A little slower than Trine 1, but it's a miracle how much graphics quality was raised since Trine 1, with such a little performance drop.
You ROCK

I hate that people think turning v-sync on reduces preformence. I hate how developers and manufacturers make people think v-sync reduces performence. What v-sync does is it makes sure the GPU doesn't go out trying to render 10000 frames per second when the monitor can only show 60 frames per second. It's a framerate limit that prevents what's known as screen tearing, but it doesn't make you see less images per second. It makes the computer not render more than the amount it can show you per second.
You got that? Great.
60 fps is probably the vsync doing its thing (many monitors are 60 hz = 60 fps), so your computer might not be as outdated as you think

NeatNit
I know what v-sync is very well, thank you
I just wanted to be precise.

I suppose that deserves a second thanks, so thanks.
Glad to hear after two years of hard work.

Ah good

I don't mean you specifically though, a surprising amount of otherwise very knowledgeable people make this mistake, mainly because that's what the short description of it tells them.

Anyways, back to positive: THE GAME IS AWESOME!! *has not bought it yet*
Re: How you know your game is beyond superb quality?
There are no AAA titles.
Some people like shooters and some people like simple puzzle games.
Everyone has different personal AAA titles, and for example Call of Duty is none for me.
However, I saw no game looking so lovely like Trine 2 for quite a long time.
Even Trine didn't look that good, somehow the light and reflections look quite amazing, making it even more magical.
Great work, keep it up!

I'd have paid $60 for Trine. I'd certainly have paid $60 for Trine 2 as well. I know I'm in a minority though. Some games just resonate with you and Trine is one of them (and Trine 2 likely will too, the beta certainly does). I got a lot of out of it and my enjoyment was high.
Both games are beautiful. I impresses me just how much better Trine 2 is looking though. I wouldn't have imagined that it'd look so good, when Trine was perfect for me visually.
